Unions in ontario launch attack ads before election

Reading Mustang1's posts, this theme comes through clearly. A Taliban like self appointed elite.
When normal collective bargaining is forbidden, society is caught in Taliban like collective bargaining.
Believe me, Mustang, I am not envious of Teachers. I make way more than the average teacher.
Later...
That's why we've started calling the BCTF the BC Taliban Federation.
I don't know if the Ontario teachers union is as caustic but the one in BC is a hotbed of far left rubbish.
During every election, it's imposssible to see where the unions stop and the NDP begins. A frightening thing when you realize the ammount of money they have, and the lack of accountability they have to their members.

If it's so easy for you to make money, you have no credibility for refusing to pay a heavy tax burden.

Who said it was easy. It requires skill and hard work and dedication. And self-motivation.

This Mustang1, is indeed a part of the phenomena of teachers unions hijacking the agenda.
Of course, they have an agenda – who said they didn’t? Most unions are, by nature, protectionist entities that strive (and their membership expects it) to better their position and work environment (the only thing with teachers is that includes a curriculum and funding)
$1:
“They seek to line their own pockets and indoctrinate our children to their PC agenda.”
Empty minutia from the uninformed. Next
$1:
“Their chief weapon is pseudo intellectualism and just plain old browbeating. They just ooze their notion that they and they alone are the arbiters of all things.”
Prove it. Where are the examples of this alleged “pseudo intellectualism” Sorry, I’m certainly not taking your word for it.
$1:
“Their practice goes against accepted practice. Recently here a "visible minority" kid assaulted another kid, allegedly over a racial remark. The victim of the assault had teeth broken.”
Their practice goes against accepted practice? What on earth does that jumbled mess mean? They’re making up practice? It’s not condoned? What “accepted practice”? The Teacher’s Act? Government Legislation? Curriculum expectations? Got any tangible info here or is this just another uneducated editorial?
$1:
“The police were involved by the victims family. The Police attended and viewed video of the assault. The "visible minority" kid was charged with "assault causing bodily harm".
Parallel to the the school, dealt with this matter, both kids were suspended for 3 days. The notion was that there was a fight and involvement meant fighting. Despite a published "code of conduct" whereby a student charged with a criminal offence on school property would be suspended until the matter was resolved in the courts---the accused was allowed to return to school. The victim was further disciplined for the alleged racial remark, despite the assailants admission that from his position it was here-say. The Police had to direct that the assailant be kept away from the victim.”
And this is the principal’s (and likely the superintendent) call. And guess what? THEY’RE NOT IN THE UNION!!!! They represent the school board (which is elected although this practice was compromised during the Harris years) and the Ministry of Education! This has nothing to do with teacher’s unions. Please read up on this stuff as this constant prattle has little do with the salient point.
$1:
“This illustrates the schools (teachers), not the elected school boards, imposing a set of values contrary to our established law and order.”
This illustrates that schools (principals and superintendents) sometimes make mistakes, but this story has little to do with teachers, unions or an alleged conspiracy of indoctrination in the classrooms. Nice try.
$1:
“FYI to those out of province. Following the victory of the "Common Sense Revolution" the defeated LIBRANO candidates occupied the school-board and with bloated deficit budgets attempted to derail government policy. In many cases, the government took over the school boards and appointed administrators-----which the LIBRANOs and teachers unions cried foul.”
FYI to those out of province – do your own research and avoid this guy’s agenda-pushing dreck like the plague. If you want independent, scholarly work, then grab a copy of Sid Noel’s “Revolution at Queen’s Park” as it’s a balanced, in-depth analysis of the “Common Sense” Revolution. Oh…and if you think Harris’ mismanagement of the school system didn’t occur, check out Rozanki’s scathing critique of the Harris Funding Formula.

Cheap allusion (and, as per usual, dumb), Bongo. I’m nothing like the Taliban, but then, isn’t this the time where you have another temper tantrum meltdown? Cue the meltdown

the teachers unions here are pretty bad as well , a few years ago when harris was premier they were the biggest liberal supporters in the province and organized rallies and protests. have also donated thousands of dollars to the provincial liberal party .
very biased union back in 03 even put then liberal leader dalton mcguitny on cover of there magazine and encouraged members to vote liberal .
teachers unions don't support the ndp at all , but some teachers to .

Some of us worked hard to develop skills.

Unions are useless and need to be outlawed. They only protect the lazy ones in society.
The problem is when managers become lazy and fire a lazy worker for the wrong reason.
A hard worker that wants arbitrary and discriminatory decisions replaced with procedure and policy does not like the presidence that might be set by lazy managers.
