Nice post QBC.

Bashing of any kind is simply getting old.

I disagree. A nice big CPC majority would save us all from the unstability of a coalition of opposites, and the existing government, run by an economist are the people most likely to come up with a solid and efficient plan to help Canadians.

I think that was something similar to what Scott Brison blogged about.. :D

I'm not talking about another election or the coalition for that matter. I think we as a nation have lost sight of what we have to do because of all this BS with the coalition, no matter what side you support. This has taken the forefront, divided Canadians and clouded the real issues we face. We all need to knock this coalition BS off, again, no matter what side you support and get to stabilizing our country.

All he smells is a Liberal loss. He doesn't care about the economy, people, or Canada.

What matters most to him is loss and humiliation for the Liberals. Everything else is simply not important.

Sorry Derby, but that's the type of stuff I'm talking about. This is not constructive, this does not help our country. All our elected officials. all of them, are right now either trying to gain power or hold onto it. They are not concentrating on the job at had. This is what I believe needs to be stopped. A lot of time, effort and money have been wasted on the partisan BS in the last few weeks. We have a suspended Parliament, a group trying to topple the government and none of our MP's are doing what we elected them to do.

For some cons its simply a statement of fact.

You remember what I was like 2 years ago. I talked all about how the Libs and CPC need to work togeather to have a govt that represents a majority of CDNs. i said that even before martins loss.

I was hoping for greater military spending and gun rights played off against greater social freedoms.

All I got was insults. Add to the fact that Harper drfits further and further right. :?

I want cooperation by the feds too but its kinda difficult to swing when you have so many insults and attacks getting thrown in your face.

That all may be true, but a couple years ago we were not facing the biggest economic crisis in a generation. We are now. Thousands of Canadians are losing their jobs, peoples lives are being ripped apart and all our elected officials can do is this? I'm not happy with a coalition lead by a man who's on the way out. I'm not happy about a coalition that involves traitors to our nation. I'm not happy that our Prime Minister tucked tail and decided to save his job over keeping Parliament in session when we need our government most. I am most unhappy that all of our elected officials have betrayed us and consider their jobs and being in power more important then helping the very people who put them there. We deserve better and we should demand better. We should also be showing them what we want by putting aside our own partisanship.

Suggestions?

Stop federal subsidies to political parties? :D

Thanos @ Fri Dec 05, 2008 7:37 pm

Partisan bashing ruleZ!

Better angels of out nature would be nice but it's not going to happen. One thread down you've got someting called "Welcome to the Harper Dictatorship", with all the usual suspects having themselves a good chuckle. Harper's a fascist, Harper's a Nazi, Harper's gonna steal away my right to be a total welfare-sucking knob, yadda, yadda, yadda. Same old slanderous song and dance from the crowd that ran out of new ideas a long time ago.

All life is war, or something to that effect. Why not just enjoy the adrenaline rush of a good scrap instead of preaching peace to two sides who simple aren't interested in it?

QBC @ Fri Dec 05, 2008 7:37 pm

Why not put forth a united front right from here, at CKA? Write and send a letter or statement of our anger and dissappointment to all our political party leaders. Tell them to get back to work a knock off the bullshit. Who knows, it's a start isn't it? and everything needs a place to start from.

Hopefully people won't be so apathetic about elections anymore, and voter turnouts will take an upswing.

I got a couple to start with:

Not one single tax payer dollar goes out unless there is a firm, viable and accountable ecomomic plan presented by those asking and everything open to public scrutiny.

Not one single dollar to go into creating new social programs.

Stakes are too high this time around. A final winner had to be decided, by fair means or foul, for this to come to it's inevitable conclusion. Not fair, maybe, but that's just the way life goes sometimes.

I do respect your attempt, however, for trying to get folks to see a different philosophy. Too bad it's just not the right time for it.

I have to disagree with you. I believe this is the very time when Canadians should stand up and demand better from the people who we send to Ottawa. They are not there by right, they are there by our leave and they need to be reminded of that. The stakes are high and if this type of thing continues from all our political parties, we are the ones who will ultimately loose
