Hyperion, what you have said was never the point of this thread.

And i'm saying tha the 'point' of this thread is simply cover for the left to back away from a series of poor deicisons. A few days ago it was 'Hell yes!' for the 'coalition' and now it's 'let's talk'

If you really want to talk about the problem we face, let's talk about how the liberal party wants Dion to be replaced, let's talk about how the BQ is going to have massive leverage in this 'coalition' government.

And if you're so serois about talk and partisan attacks it's seems that your maximum leader (at least for this week) didn't get your memo

Dion Says Haper has wasted time

You call for non-partisan attacks and then your 'coaliton goes about and does just that.

hypocrisy anyone?

Your spewing it harsh man. Point of this thread was that we should get over the political and partisan bullshit, regardless of who we like, so we can prosper as a nation and overcome the current crisis.

Just because he supports one party doesn't automatically make him partisan. I support harper, ut i'm not being partisan. I want a solution we can all work together and agree upon, and it is my belief and understanding from this thread that QBC is trying to do just that.

So do yourself a favour and dislodge your head from your ass before you embarras yourself even more.

Reality check: Canadian employers wipe out 71,000 jobs

U.S. Payrolls Decline by 533,000, Most Since 1974

The Tsunami is on its way. Now is not the time for the same old bickering. That's the largest job loss in a single month since they started tracking that stat. This is the big one.

Tom Flanagans dream is to wipe out the liberal party of Canada at any and all costs and he works hand in hand with Harper. To trust Harper now is to trust the boy who cried wolf. He was wrong on Iraq, climate change and now the economy and every time he came out with exactly the wrong response and was forced to make a mea culpa in order to save his political skin. That is the type of leader the CPC have and it is why this political crisis has gotten so out of hand. For the good of the country he must stand down.

Agreed. Harper has shot his own party in the foot. He could have led a stable government and achieved many of the goals he set forth in the election campaign. Instead he chose to inflict pain on the opposition and it back fired on him. Some Tories refused to clap for him in the last session.

We'd be better off if both "Steves" resigned.

Absolutely wrong.

If you want to see our economy drop to rock bottom, have the PM resign.

Worst possible scenario for our Country....followed closely by a coalition government lead by Dion.

I completely agree. The first Liberal step: Replace Dion
$1:
This is too serious a time for games. Our political class was given its marching orders on election night in terms that everyone seemed to understand. The Conservatives were given the privilege of continuing in government but on condition they seek the support of members of other parties. The voters chose not to give them a majority, and the strong mandate that goes with it. The Liberals, NDP and Bloc Québécois were given the privilege of representing their electors by holding the government to account in Parliament and working to improve legislation that is proposed.

This Wednesday if Dion does not step down he will have proven his accusers right that this is nothing but a power grab. Once he steps down then the shoe will be on the other foot and the onus for some real change and not simple lip service of the CPC will be in order. Action, not words this time. Harper made one hell of a mess and he can not be a part of the healing when he was so much a part of the problem. If he wants what is good for the country he too must resign.

Not necessarily. Dion will step down. The coalition may or may not survive, but Harper would be best advised to resign. If we hit the polls again in January, the tories will loose all their seats in Quebec. The tories would form another minority gov't and we'll have 300 million less for the coffers.

in order to save the government from Dion, Harper has to resign?!?!?!

in other words, "Aslan must die!!!"

Harper played hardball and lost. The opposition senses the blood and is out for it. The CPC must cover its wounds. Or face the sharks in January.

Sharks?

Perhaps minnows.

Had the Liberals been organized and had a leader, then you could say 'sharks'. By the end of January, Dion and the idea of a coalition will be long gone.

I guess the 62% of Canadians that didnt vote for harper have not say. Only in Canada would a PM with a minority act like he had a majority. The cons would do well to dump the twit.

ridenrain ridenrain:
I disagree. A nice big CPC majority would save us all from the unstability of a coalition of opposites, and the existing government, run by an economist are the people most likely to come up with a solid and efficient plan to help Canadians.

I think that was something similar to what Scott Brison blogged about.. :D

Yeah, he's done just peachy on the economy so far; 2006 $14 billion surplus, 2008, $2 billion deficit. We don't need economists like that running the country.
