I consider myself a "Blue Liberal". I didn't want Harper to be our Prime Minister. I don't trust him, not that I really trust any politician, but I didn't want him. Having said that, this coalition idea is coming at the wrong time and for the wrong reasons.

If the Liberals had chosen a new leader, not a guy thats on the way out, to lead this, maybe. If it hadn't been about my tax dollars going for political campaigning and raises for MP's or no strikes for public employees when so many Canadians are loosing their jobs, maybe.

I don't support this at this time, but, Harper and the rest of our elected officials have to get on the ball and start to react to our economy. We are in trouble as a nation and this is no time for partisan anything. That goes for the discussions on this site. Instead of the status quo, we should maybe trying to brain storm collectively about how to help each other and our nation during this troubled time. Then once we had some constructive ideas, no matter from what member or his/her political leanings, and forward them onto all the parties political leaders. Lets not just fall back on our normal partisan flaming and work together, rise above the normal, our nation needs it.

A blue liberal or a red conservative...I would be considered a "Right" leaning liberal, or a "left" leaning conservative.

As I brought up in a previous thread, this would probably be the most opportune time to resurrect the Rhinoceros Party of Canada. All we would need is a leader with more credibility than Harper or those in the Coalition, which, in all honesty would not be that difficult.

Why? Because the coalition is faltering?
Nope. Jacks subversion and Dion's delusions won't be forgotten for a very long time. This desperate grab for power slapped a lot of Canadians in the face and upset them and I can't see the reason to let it slide.

It's like an ADSCAM christmass all over again. :D

Ahhh...the nah, nah, n, nah, nah response.....

That doesn't really help us as a nation though does it? I don't think we can afford to be partisan at this time in our history. This clearly is a time when we all need to pull together and help one another out. I know this may be a naive view point, but maybe it's time for that?

Believe or not, Red Tories are an uniquely Canadian ideological phenomena! They can be found in the Liberal party, the Conservative party and have best been represented by MacDonald, Borden, Diefenbaker, Bill Davis, some of the Mulroney PCs and Paul Martin.

ridenrain @ Fri Dec 05, 2008 6:57 pm

I disagree. A nice big CPC majority would save us all from the unstability of a coalition of opposites, and the existing government, run by an economist are the people most likely to come up with a solid and efficient plan to help Canadians.

I think that was something similar to what Scott Brison blogged about.. :D

This is all well and fine, but what do you suggest? Re-writing democracy? Group hug? Difference of opinion is healthy; keeps the pool from getting stagnant.
