It may be two days late, but it's as good a time as any to start a thread like this.

Gotta say after the first Argentina game that Messi is worth all the hype. If only the Nigerian keeper hadn't decided to make great save after great save it would have been a highlight reel game for the ages.

The Greek team sucks as bad as their economy does.

For sure. They got lucky with their boring football in '04 but now it's being exposed as the bollocks it is.

Mind, England didn't play too well today either. They had a first good goal but their finishing was weak.

I'm in the pool at work. I drew Mexico.

Not bad. I got France.

And Germany laid down a beating on the Aussies today. Gotta say they looked really good. They'll be contenders for sure.

Good game by Ghana against Serbia this morning.

Very solid Ghanaian team, if they can scrape past the Aussies (which is likely) they'll face an interesting match against England/USA (i'm putting my money down on those two winning their group).

Good start as usual by Germany, I give them until the quarters until they fizzle out.

Hell of upset today of Switzerland over Spain. I reall have to congratualte the Swiss with their strategy of anti-soccer by having every player behind the halfway line. Bravo Swiss, you really earned that win..

And today, France confirmed what' everyone' been saying since the '08 Euros, their team lacks cohesion and their manager is fool at best. Plan on the French dusting off a guillotine for him when he gets back.

This is the ugliest side of soccer, diving. This is just pathetic and any professional player who does this should not only be ashamed but banned from the tournament.

At least a foot of space between him and the Paraguian player and the Italian goes down like he was shot from a sniper.

Why they don't have video review for this I don't know. Fifa should be allowed to assess a penalty after the fact.

Apparently the French only got in with a handball from Henri anyway. Ireland complained bitterly for months to no avail.

Number one reason I don't watch this nonsense.

Gotta hand it to the US team today against Slovenia. They were all out of sorts after the first half and came back to tie it. They should have won actually had the ref not been a total moron in calling the go-ahead goal back.

And it looks like england are doing that thing again where they have field full of stars but who can't play together worth a damn. It was an insipid display against Algeria who played well but should have beaten nonetheless.

It should make for an interesting final day in this group.
