A dozen protesters carry rifles to Obama speech
I carry my penis concealed.
Personally I think it's a great thing. I was arrested the other day because I found an blunt axe and was bringing it at my house to repair it. The police confiscated it me. Come on !
I want to live in Vermont
I was think of packing an unloaded pellet handgun on a side holster, just to show that I'm still a law abiding citizen and you paranoid libs have no reason to fear me.

Again.. the visable presence of a gun didn't send people on a mad rampage.
I disagree. It obviously sent a number of anti-gunners on this site on a 'mad rampage'.

Hey Bart! How are things?
I wouldn't classify most here as "anti-gunners". Anti-idiot maybe. I like playing with guns as much as the next guy, murdered the hell out of hundreds of clay pigeons. But arming yourself to go to a political protest in a western democracy is a little fucked up. We have our Caledonias in Canada, so we can't look down our noses, but we can still call a mental midget, a mental midget.

You do not seem to understand that he didn't arm to protect himself. He did it as a demonstration of freedom. I just see that act as a way to protest the interventionism of Obama.
a mental midget is someone that gets paranoid every time a law abiding person is seen packing a rifle.
I will add that it seems to work since everybody is talking about it since yesterday.

Hey people, you all seem to forget something: it was a demonstration ! Sure it was a little bit "hardcore" to bring an assault rifle but in the end it was a political act. He demonstrated that he has the freedom to carry his weapons and want to keep his freedoms. Not all people don,t there want everything controlled by the government.
Yeah, ok.... so he demonstrated his right..... to what end?
Why did they feel compelled to bring their guns to a political rally?
To my knowledge, Obama has been going around to talk about the Health Care Reform..... the only relation to that with firearms is if someone gets shot at one of his speeches..... he was demonstrating his so-called "Right" for no other reason except to stir shit up.
And now more and more people are going to try and do the same thing, and it's all eventually going to lead to one thing.
Just wait and see.... I have yet to be wrong with these sort of predictions.
That's right.... I'm gifted
The gun forums in Arizona are danmed pleased with themselves, and rightfully so.
Does he carry that weapon to work? Does he carry that weapon to the grocery store? I know he can but does he? No he doesn't, so could we please stop this childish game of "He brought the weapon because it's his right"?
They're bringing and brandishing weapons as a threat nothing less. Any pretence to something else is just that: pretense. It might make sense if it was a rally to protest changes to the gun laws but it ain't. Nothing remotely close to that.

It kept people away undermining democratic rights that were sacrosanct. It makes the likelihood of a violent attack that much more likely. Assassination only has to happen once. Bin Laden would be proud to kill a US president and this gives him a bridge.
Indeed... US History is rife with presidents being assasinated or attempted.
Even before Obama became president, his assasination has been the talk of many in the US over the water cooler.... at least among those in the US I talked to elsewhere in forums.

Don't laugh, I met an american in Banff ( camping) who had his spare ax handle confiscated at the Canada/US border.
but They allowed him to keep his axe.
Ofcourse most Canadians are against law abiding people packing rifles. The last time the brits tried to tax rifle toting americans, it started the war of independance.

Very well said.
I prefer someone demonstrating pacifically with a gun like him and going national for it than a Father4Justice blocking a bridge for 6 hours to prove a "point"...
