Fact check: Did a Liberal tax cut help reduce poverty rates'
Beaver, if you think your country can spend itself into prosperity then why hasn't it been done already?

It has. We are in prosperity, don’t you see?
The big spender countries are richest countries on earth, and have been ever since they started their big spending. All the wealthy countries of the world have spent their way to prosperity. Before that all our ancestors were illiterate rural peasants or inner city slum dwellers who toiled through their entire waking hours and died young. There was no such thing as a middle class then. And I’m not talking that long ago either, barely more than 100 years ago.

Just to jump in real quick. The Merchant Class was always what we now call Middle to upper Middle class in society. They have been for a long time the just were a small segment that has grown to include anyone making X amount of money were before the Merchant's were the only ones making that money. Before that It you were rich/royalty or poor.
Sorry double post.

Eurozone countries that don’t even control their own currency so can’t possibly be farting out money
You have no sense of history, do you?

Apparently you don’t, considering you didn’t know your country has run deficits for it entire history
Not true. Deficit spending is relatively new. It only began in earnest in the 1980's, under Regan.

Not a shred of truth to that. You’ve been badly misinformed I’m afraid
BartSimpson BartSimpson:
So we have a mismatch in data here but even your link conceded the US ran defecits most of its history, 75% of the time. Also note that the modem era as we know it with a large prosperous middle class starts right around where the government spending really takes off
I misquoted my sources in the links below , which actually said “since 1776, the federal budget has run a continuous deficit except for 7 short periods,” (not years)

Then why can't Canada spend $1 trillion next year and buy everyone a new BMW to go with all that free health care? You folks also need to buy everyone a free home starting with Thanos. And then you can give EVERY terrorist $10 million bucks!!!
Why not?

Exactly. That didn’t really chang until the New Deal era and big spending policies of FDR that were emulated across the western world, then WW2 was of course a giant government spending spree that gave birth to many if the industries, technologies, jobs and way of life that we know today.

I didn’t say debt capacity was unlimited or wouldn’t have consequences if you take itto it’s absurd extreme. Just because bathing in boiling water will kill you doesn’t mean we should only bathe in the coldest water possible or that bathing in luke warm water is more dangerous than cold water because it’s closer to boiling point .
Get it?
