Anytime a Conservative even prononces anything, the media is ready to pounce. But somehow a left wing moron holding a sign in Parliament, all of a sudden, that does not seem like a big deal.

As opposed to the screaming fits western media printed hourly about the Libs and the fact they got slayed in the press throughout their entire tenure?

I thought we put this ridiculous left wing media conspiracy to rest. Its account of the press the Libs were decimated in Quebec over adscam and remain to this day. No pro-Lib media exists there.

C'mon DerbyX, the Quebec media is all but left wing bias.

The ''Plateau'' elected a radical leftist Khadir. They were the ones responsible for the NDP wave in the province. Seriously man.

I disagree. The QC media reveled in attacking the Libs, viciously so during the entire adscam. The general premise was that the Libs were responsible rather then a handful of QC'ers.

The NDP I think rose to power based a lot on Laytons debate performance (which cannot be attributed to media), Quebec voter willingness to embrace outsider parties (as the ADQ found), and the belief that voting NDP would mean a better chance at defeating a Harper majority without voting Bloc.

Are you saying the people of your province simply vote along the lines of what the media supports?

PimpBrewski123 @ Fri Jun 03, 2011 6:39 pm

Seriously, journalists of this province have a left ''bias''. At least for the most part, SRC and TVA. And yes, they dictate the information being said or simply published. That plays a big part in the populace's vote.

Welcome to the next four years of the Official Opposition, NDP-style. Nothing but juvenile college-level brattishness and hyper-self-righteouness, performed equally by their MP's, their aides, and whatever other goofball supporters and 'activists' they have tucked away.

I can't believe I'm saying this but I miss the Liberals already. The NDP and their lackeys are going to prove themselves to be the absolute nadir as far as Opposition standards and decorum are concerned.

It is sad to hear you say that so soon after the election. What a stupid ass stunt to pull when Commons is in session let alone the Throne speech and what makes it worse is that this is a page not some JO crashing commons. It may be a long four years.

If QC voters are so easily swayed as you say then we should disregard how they vote!

Good. Take one of Thanos' anti-dipper Beckian ravings as gospel...

The media here are not only leftists, they are separatists. Don't forget that. The Liberal Party was THE target in that time.

Yes, they did. You don't know how people here are brainwashed and follow what the media says. Don't forget we speak french and that 90% of people makes their idea of politics (and everything) by watching 1 or 2 french media. They do not think, they absorb. They don't have access to anything else since they are unilingual. Why do you think we have a language police ? To control people.

That's because, there are many people in this province that tend to be nationalists. Since, they only have in Francophone media, either SCR (The French CBC) or TVA. So admittedly, there is not much option in media. Most journalists that could be named here are either leftists, pro-nationalist or separatist.

On the other hand, as of late, there has been a few columists that have a bit more of a ''right'' opinion. At least, that evens at least a bit. And there is the radio commentaries in the Quebec City area that has good political opinion. But yes, the media, no matter the province, plays a major part.

People making a big deal about someone holding a sign up for 20 seconds without disrupting anything are morons. That's just my opinion though.

And for the 3rd or 4th time now. SENATE. Not parliament.

By the same standard the Libs never stand a chance in the western provinces because their media is anti-Liberal and omnipresent.

I think you do your fellow provincial voters a bit of a disservice saying they only vote how the media wants especially when you examine the record and see Quebec probably more then any other province in Canada has a variable vote. They have supported in large numbers the Libs, the Bloc, the PC party and now the NDP.

That is just in the last 30 years. Contrast that with Alberta where you have to go back to 1942 just to find an election where the Libs even tied the right wing party.

She disrupted a throne speech and exercised not only very poor judgement but a dizzying lack of respect for our democratic institution.

Furthermore, evoking the Arab Spring when talking about the Canadian government demonstrates she's also a fucking idiot.
