Twelve now, and expected to climb.
Inside Sad Dick's office, there's talk of up to 200.

Crap, I hope that is incorrect.

London fire: Baby caught after being 'dropped to safety from tower'
$1:
A baby was caught by a member of the public after being dropped from a window as fire engulfed London's Grenfell Tower, a witness has said.
Samira Lamrani said she saw a woman gesturing to the crowd below that she was about to drop her baby from "the ninth or 10th floor" of the building.
A man ran forward and managed to catch the baby, she said.
Six people have died in the blaze in north Kensington and police expect the numbers to rise.
Ms Lamrani told the Press Association: "People were starting to appear at the windows, frantically banging and screaming.
"The windows were slightly ajar - a woman was gesturing that she was about to throw her baby and if somebody could catch her baby.
"Somebody did, a gentleman ran forward and managed to grab the baby."

WOW, just watching some of the videos of the fire, there are so many points burning I can't see how this fire is accidental, fires on different sides of the building at ground level and flames shooting out of windows on the upper floors. I seriously think this is going to be an arsonist(s) at work.
The arsonist was whoever it was that decided to wrap the building in a flammable plastic siding.
Since that was someone in government then nothing will happen to them except they might get a promotion.
Bad refurb, alarms not working, previous warnings:

Such a tragedy.
Interesting to note, the entire building was engulfed in flames and didn't collapse.

I would think that it must be unstable now though.

It wasn't a Terrorist Attack, it was a building that probably should have been demolished years ago before a preventable fire took 12 lives. The reason it didn't collapse is it wasn't hit by a jet liner (filled with jet fuel) blowing away fire protection for the steel support columns.
Theresa May's problems just got a whole lot worse:

The cost of making these tower blocks safe will be enormous.
Maybe someone might want to remind me about that "right to housing" thing.

Healey accused ministers of rejecting or ignoring key recommendations of coroners’ reports into tower block fires in south London and Southampton. In 2009, a fire in the Lakanal House tower block in Camberwell killed six people and injured at least 20. In 2010, a fire at Shirley Towers apartment block in Southampton killed two firefighters.
Healey might want to remind himself who was in power in 2009-10.
And the fact that at least 6 other buildings in London have the same exterior.
And that's just London.

Global warming hysteria killed these people.
Making old buildings perform beyond capabilities, and this exploding
fridge thing I still have to look at.

At the end of the day I suspect the actual cause will be plain old graft. I also expect that the graft will be covered up, no one will be blamed, and business as usual will resume just as soon as this is out of the news cycle.

Company that makes the insulation will say it's fireproof, company that installed it will say they did it properly, company that supervised it will say all was done properly, consulting company will say all ok, council admin will say fair and open tender won fairly and all signed off.
Fact is they are still putting polystyrene on the outside of buildings,
and that stuff will burn.
