8O 8O WOW, just watching some of the videos of the fire, there are so many points burning I can't see how this fire is accidental, fires on different sides of the building at ground level and flames shooting out of windows on the upper floors. I seriously think this is going to be an arsonist(s) at work.

BRAH @ Tue Jun 13, 2017 9:21 pm

If it's arson this could be an ISIS Terrorist Attack to mirror 9/11. 8O

I wasn't going to say it, but well...

ISIS CALLS ON RECRUITS TO COPY ARSON TERROR METHOD USED IN ISRAEL

At the moment who knows though, right?

Yeah way to early to tell.

Whatever the cause I hope everyone made it out. The pictures are harrowing to say the least.

Or a bomb factory...

North Kensington is described as "diverse". The area is now upscale by gentrification and the tower was built in 1974 as some kind of low-income housing.

From the Guardian:

What we know so far about the London tower block fire

$1:
A huge fire has engulfed a tower block in West London.

The fire broke out shortly before 1am on Wednesday at Grenfell Tower in Latimer Road near Notting Hill.

The tower is at least 24 storeys high and contains 120 apartments.

200 firefighters have been tackling the blaze with 40 engines.

A number of people have been treated for a range of injuries according to the fire brigade
London Ambulance Service say they were called at 1.29am and have 20 crews helping at the scene.

There have been multiple reports of people trapped in the blaze.

Guardian reporter at the scene says at least one man can be seen at a window waving and calling for help.

Streets around the tower have been sealed off and residents in their houses told to move out.
Falling debris is also causing nearby flats to be evacuated.

London Fire Brigade say there is no known cause at the moment for the blaze.

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has declared the fire a “major incident”.

Grenfell Tower, which was built in 1974, had recently undergone a major refurbishment.

Horrific. 8O

Definitely not a "normal" type of fire.

Thanos @ Tue Jun 13, 2017 10:47 pm

There's talk out there that the refurbishment has been a complete botch, with lots of code violations that haven't been fixed or that have been ignored altogether. There's a tenant/community group that filed complaints as far back as 2013 about things like faulty wiring. So, it could be terrorism or it could be the inevitable result of corner-cutting caused by developer greed. Time to back off and see what the cops and fire-fighters say.

DM has pictures and video with the building fully ablaze.

They put some plastic panels on the outside to make the building less ugly.
They look .. melted ..
