I think anybody with a brain cell wouldn't be listening to annoying robocalls for polling station information when it's printed on the card mailed to you by Elections Canada.

Or is this too obvious?

All parties us robocalls. The diff is that these calls relayed accurate information. If you guys can't see the diff, guess that explains why politics is in the shape it's in.

That's odd. You turn a blind eye to so many other things that are illegal so one would logically assume that something as namby-pamby as robocalls wouldn't bother you at all. :|

What do I turn a blind eye to? You mean pot - I want to make it legal. That's not turning a blind eye. You want me to collar some cop and go "ocifer, ocifer, that bad mans down there is smoking marijuana. Go arrest him now!" Shit, he'll probably arrest me instead.

And, anybody with a brain cell understands how people could get confused when they get called by somebody identifying themselves as Elections Canada and saying the info of the card is wrong and they should go to another location. Guess that's just not obvious enough for some to understand.

Whoa there, slow down. You're asking society to use independent thought rather than believe what their devices tell them to think.

Way too soon, Brock :P

Or is it way too late? :?

It might just be too late. It seems that independent thought becomes less and less prevalent as time passes.

Canadaka Canadaka:
I don't understand why this is news, robocalls are nothing new. I get robocalls from BC political parties for 2 years.

The difference is robocalls being used for voter suppression with misleading voting location information.

It's only news because the Liberal Party took direct aim at the CPC for doing what they were just caught doing; albeit with no evidence.

andyt @ Sun Mar 11, 2012 12:38 pm

Really? The Libs were sending out misleading voting locations? Have you got a link to back that up? I thought you said there's no proof the CPC did anything - yet now you've caught the Libs in some nefarious scheme? You should contact the media right away with your discovery.

I'm just saying that perhaps the Conservatives should find their own moral compass, rather than judging the rightness or wrongness of their actions based on what the Liberals do.

Is their any evidence to back anything else up, besides the actual call the Liberal party was using?

Zip, both sides do this. Canadian politics is all about doing the same as the other side but whoever gets caught first gets heat from the other one until their lies get found out too. It all settles down for a bit until the next 'crisis' or 'scandal'.

Expecting any of them to exhibit a moral compass is unrealistic.

The common denominator is it's all underhand dishonest stuff that these guys have been doing for years. All sides.

Things changing are as likely as a Hooters restaurant opening up in Kabul.

Do I detect a hint of cynicism tempered with a large dose of distrust. 8O
