Holy shit don't I feel better as I head out to purchase my groceries for the weekend. $20.00 seems the average per grocery bag and the mere fact that I can afford to buy one today raises my confidence in Mr. Harper and YOU, Dino. 8O

I have no confidence when it comes to Harper and the economy. Finance Monkey Flaherty is muttering away on my TV right now, denying that there's a problem. "Nope, nothing wrong here." Bullshit.

I'm not sure who in this thread took a shot at Dion for getting an education either, but maybe you'd better check out your Dear Leader's resume...he spent his entire life either in politics or academia.

Which brings us to Harper's claim that he feels people's pain because he's been between jobs. I'm not sure why he thought he could away with such a blatant lie, but the closest example he could come up when pressed was having to wait for almost a whole for an election when he was a Reform candidate. I think we should fire him so he can find out what unemployment is really like.

Now Harper is on my TV. He's standing in front of a peg board that's got some tools on it. The tools don't look like they've ever been used. Whoever wrapped the cord on that drill up like that needs to be kicked in the ass a few times though.

There's a national radio phone in show going on at the moment on the debate. Going to be a good segment on the oilsands. Also broadcasted on CPAC.

Go ahead, I find it kind of flattering that so many pages have been dedicated to discussing me.

Wada Wada:
I thought May nailed Harper on the Atlantic Accord.

I thought she nailed Harper on many things. Coast Guard ships especially. And how outsourcing jobs can't be good for an economy in general, especially at a time when we could use more jobs.

I don't know what debate everyone else is watching, but Harper got kicked so bad I am surprised he doesn't actually have bruises. I know his strategy was to let everyone else gang up on him, while he plays the kid being picked on in the schoolyard. But the only part of his parties' platform he managed to convey was 'things are good, so we'll just leave them alone'. Sorry, unacceptable.

Playing the victim is what has turned me off the CPC. Canada needs a leader who is strong, who has an opinion and is willing to back it up. Not sit there and play punching bag to gain sympathy.

I knew May was a smart lady, but she showed just how competent she is last night. I like how she called out Dion and Layton for stealing the Green party environmental plan.

I always admired Duceppe too. He's a smart man and very articulate. But, I'd rather see him bleeding in a gutter than in Parliament.

Professional help? me? I do not think you understand the true extent of the situation at hand. This is not an upcoming recession we are going to be facing, its a DEPRESSION.

Anyone who does not understand that does not understand anything.

US Bailout = Hyper inflation
US Bailout = Giving money to foreign banks etc (Funny money soon)
US Bailout = Banks and investors will abandon the US Dollar
US Bailout = American people will be on the hook for TRILLIONS

US Dollar = Collapsing as foreign interests pull out of it systematically.

US = The land that buys "our stuff".

If you dont understand this simple economics you need to start reading about the US economy. You need to go out and read about what is happening down south. It is of FAR FAR FARRRRRRR more importance to do that. If you do not you wont even begin to grasp what WILL happen here and IS happening here right NOW!

The dollar has had its biggest gains the past few weeks against the euro ever, or in fact any European currency that I can think of since WWII.

Why do you think that is?

McRobert @ Fri Oct 03, 2008 9:31 am

Oh I dont know.. Maybe the big players are keeping it high so when they get their bailout money they can shift it to EU markets etc and not take it in the teeth!

"Everybody freeze, this is a robbery!"

So exactly what are you proposing we do about it? Other than panic and run around hysterically waving our arms.
