Regina Regina:
You have global competitors and no demand. Who’s going to buy the “ship, tank, bullet or solar panel” from you? Also what does Joe’s Shmuck’s Solar Panel Manufacturing company do when the government starts making them Comrade?
Bushco bushing company.

Of course the conservative equivalent of that tinfoil argument is the whole "the east hates the west" and they are trying to deliberately destroy the oil sands.

Then why post that we all hate the west or was that a joke?
I have a question.
Are any of you likely to change your vote after hearing the debates?
Usually, partisan voters will be less likely to change their vote, but for some this might be relevant. Hesited before even posting this comment, but I actually found Layton to be fairly good in the debate last night, eventhough I do not necessarily agree with the NDP. Aside from the interruption to Harper (but then again, everyone else seemed to be doing it) he made some points.

There may be a shift from Liberal to NDP.
One of the people who was here last night switched from Liberal to NDP based on the debates, and there are a lot of people less committed than she was.
Nope, I'm still going with the CPC even though my local MP is a useless tit. It did however change my mind on Dion a bit. I found him sincer and I admire the fact that he's still pushing his Green Shift in spite of the fierce oppossion he's facing from other parties and from with in his own. While I don't agree with it I do think he's been pretty couragous in putting it forward and it also shows he's a man who will stand up for his beliefs.
It also solidified my conviction not to ever vote for the NDP, Greens or well ... the Bloc (thats pretty much a given since I'm from Alberta).

McRobert McRobert:
Oh I dont know.. Maybe the big players are keeping it high so when they get their bailout money they can shift it to EU markets etc and not take it in the teeth!
"Everybody freeze, this is a robbery!"
Or, it could be that Europe is no better than America.
I understand the problems, and at least until today was heavily short the stock market. However, when people say the dollar is going down, they often don't understand or at least say against what. Against the euro? Are you frickin' kidding? European banks are more highly leveraged than American banks and the structural fundamentals of Europe are worse. The yen? Japan's economy is going to start declining in a decade because they're population is going to start declining. Gold? Maybe in the long run, but what is happening right now is deflationary, and you'd have to be sniffing glue to think gold is going to go up in a deflationary environment.
I've been dying to short the euro but can't get a good entry point since its been so volatile. But its eventually going to below $1.10 if not lower. And the loonie is going back to $0.80.
Dion is definite showing a hate for the west. He wants to ding the oil patch hard, yet he's going soft on the autoindustry
Hell, when Dion showed up at the Calgary Stampede, he hated the west so bad he made everyone pay for their stampede breakfast. What kind of a prick undermines the western hospitality spirit of the Calgary Stampede, eh?
The Debate was a Fuckinh Joke because all the Leaders of the Bloc, Green Party, NDP and Liberals brought to the table was BDS comparisons of Harper to Bush. It's time these Parties got some new Leaders because these Leaders are Fucking useless..
