A moratorium on future development creates job losses? Funny, because those jobs don't exist yet. And if you'd actually pay attention, you'd understand that there will be more jobs created in the long term because of the R&D required and the additional jobs required for reclaiming (really reclaiming, not the bullshit they do now) land, sequestering ghgs, and reducing particulate pollution. That's more jobs, better jobs, for a longer period of time.
Just to clear a few things up,the expansions are in slow motion because of the lack of people,ok,thats one, mostly it's easterners they are focusing on getting up here.
Second-the reclaiming going on is some of the best in the world,I personally worked with a few of them and the guys doing it have won awards all over Canada for their work. To say they arent is just a comment from someone who hasnt a clue about reclamation. But then spending 20 years typing every day on 20 internet forums doesnt exactly qualify you as an expert as much as you would like to believe.
The guys doing the reclamation in the oilsands won the jade award for reclamation in BC many years in a row, they come from all over Canada and are known and respected in the industry as the best.
So theres a couple more outright lies exposed.
Regardless of oil sands carping, is there not one prospective leader out there who can wax eloquent about pride of country? Deif said "let us be Canadians first". He had more class than any of todays posers combined. Harper likes to talk about the pride of Quebecers and Albertans whose interest comes first, Canada has been sidelined and it is a crying shame.
Dion and Layton actually both do pretty good jobs of that, djakeydd. It's not in every speech either of them gives, although both have spoken eloquently about it at various times, but if you listen to their speeches it is generally part of the sub-text...that we are one country.
djakeydd djakeydd:
Deif said ..
First it's 1995 and now it's Deif.. you're actually going back in time.
Try to stay up to date, please.
The also rans will next be quoting that the fall of the Roman empire was Harpers fault.
Nope, but he does seem to think a lot like Caligula, Pluggy.

Yeah, if by "one country" you mean the west is to be sucked dry by the Liberals.

Well he did expand his empire.

I was responding to a question about speeches etc., Toro. What Alberta pays people in Ottawa to do with its money was not the topic at hand.
What the hell is all that noise?
God the perry como sweater gig didnt work..now harper is digging out his dear old tory mother to try and buy votes... what an f.......n tool!

Yeah, if by "one country" you mean the west is to be sucked dry by the Liberals.
If by sucked dry you mean had hundreds of billions of dollars returned to them in the form of lowered taxes, lowered EI premiums, a better RRSP package and the simple fact of not paying as much interest per year on a massive debt then you are correct.

If that's true Derby then why arent they trusted in Alberta?

"Alberta can blow me."

Funny..I thought the deviant types were more at home in left leaning organizations.
Nope, Shep, it's the authoritarian right that produces the deviants. I wouldn't be at all surprised to hear that Harper has a secret room under the Peace Tower where he pays elderly women to whip his ass with a riding crop. It fits the profile.
