it IS of her concern when you expose youself close to nudity and make a show outta it in the streets. She explained it to you.
Yet fascism has nothing to do with simple derss code rules.
And I already explained pride parades aren't really like that. So out of half a million people, maybe two of them are naked? She's painting everyone with the same broad brush and that's what's BS.
Don't make me start posting photos of gay pride two weekends ago with seas of fully-dressed people. Nova might not like them because some of them are dressed funny, like clowns as he complains, but an overwhelming majority cover their genitals, nonetheless.
Get over it.
WOW! They cover their genitals! I do that everyday, I guess I am weird now?

you're twisting again, lily! she asked you if you were gay to demosntrate you how you brought things to personal! and you did so asking if Bren lived on main street herself!
I asked her if she lived on Main Street because she seemed to want to speak for all those people who do. She's trying to make a point that the parades shouldn't be held because some of the people who liveon the parade route might not want to see it.
Why not have the parades in an area where people don't live? Why can't I have a problem with them, just of their existance? Why am I supposed to like them just because they exist?
You don't have to like them. No-one's forcing you to like them.
But why don't you want those who do like them to be able to have them?
Why are you trying to force others to conform to what you want?
Why are they forcing me to conform to what they want? I don't have to put up with everything people want, we might as well start calling God Allah, because someone wants that!

Well gee Lily I do.....NEXT!!!!!!!!!
Then you have a say - the equivalent to one vote - as to whether your city has one. You can't tell anyone else they shouldn't have them... which is what you're doing here.
Thank you Lily you walked right into it. So because i have an opposing view I have one vote and no right to voice an opinion. On the other hand You are Jetboy are a mere two votes, two voices and have the right to voice an opinion on the pro side. How very ummmm what was that word... uncon stitutional... of you. Oh my yes I am the facist one here. I have no idea how thankful I right now, that I am in fact Canadian and don't have to concern myself with the parallel universe you two seem to exist one.
You're trying to prevent people from having a parade they have every right to have.
My opinion is that those that want to go see the parade should be able to and those that don't can do something else that day.
Your opinion is the parades shouldn't be held at all.
In my universe, we all get a say in what we do.
In yours, you get to decide what's decent and acceptable.
I like my universe better than yours.
Ahhh no i in fact didn't I said in their present state they should not be held on a city street at the tax payers expense. They are no longer fulfilling their initial intent. Much as a stripper should be in a strip club, I said they should be moved to a private forum. Rent the metro center, raise non public funds for it, parade to your hearts content away from children.

i do not really feel like starting to develop another aspect of the parade topic, but apparently i have to.
you may say whatever you want to this, but gay subculture can affect ppl. Being gay is not in 100% cases comes from nature nowadays! It becomes trendy in certain circles. Gay lobby is getting very strong, too. Prade parades are the agressive part of this subculture.
No single minute i believe that nowadays the parades are being held to stand for the simple rights of gays! they outlived this function as Nova has already said. When you make a parade just for the fact that you're gay and not like the majority of other ppl, that you will never be treated equal, but wait... MAYBE treated equal is NOT what ppl participating in this shit actually want?
here is my whole new can of whorms...

Like banging your head on a brick wall. When my tax dollars are paying for it, YES it is very much my concern! Are you even aware of your rights as a Canadian? Lily to answer your question, yes it is held in an area that is densly populated with children. Oh but of course it isn't held in the wealthy South end of the city.
Brick wall indeed. I already explained your tax dollars don't pay for it because it makes more money than it costs. What part of that don't you understand?
And I'm still waiting for you to show me those figures?

How are you being forced to conform?
No-one is forcing you to go. Period.
Your Allah reference is equally lame. No-one can force you to call God Allah, any more than you can force them not to.
So when you read something you don't like, it is lame, and when I read something I don't like, no one can force me to read it?
I guess in your opinion, everybody should do whatever they want, no matter what other people think about it, they just shouldn't go there and bother?
That God-Allah thing is not lame, it was front-page news here yesterday. I take it you didn't read the topic, did ya?

Stop twisting my words to benifit your own agenda. A gay pride parade is a public event funded by the city. It is my right to speak out about that which my taxes pay for. That doesn't make me facist that makes me a Canadian citizen. Let us be clear on this point a gay pride parade on a city street is a privilage given by the taxpayers. As a Canadian tax payer to have a voice in how my tax dollars are spent is a right. For you to in fact try to diminish my right to speak to that is in fact a facist agenda.
I don't have to twist your words around. Reading back on this thread you did it all yourself... You complained about where they do it. You complained about how they do it. You complained about how they dress (clowns). You complained about how they act. You complained about how they have fun and express themselves.
So no, this isn't about your taxes. This is about your personal sensibilities being offended by other people acting, looking, and thinking different when they're not actually hurting anything.
No that statement is inaccurate. I spoke to how they dress and act at a public tax payer event where children are present. They express themselves in a lewd manner. Look I've gotten on a table and done a strip tease in my own home. Should I be able to promote my heterosexuality by parading with my friends down the street to music and be half clothed and gyrate to the music, whip some one in the ass while wearing black leather fetish wear on the tax payers dime? I collect lingerie and have some seriously different shit. Should i be able to wear that at a parade?
So I'm still waiting for an answer to this

Care to explain yourself here...what i see you doing here is as we on the board like to call a dodge

I've already explained it in a previous post. This is a democracy and the majority rules. If most citizens want it in any given city and there's a demand for it, there's usually an annual parade, because that usually means a pro-parade mayor and city council are voted into office, by the voters, which allow for it. That's democracy.
Have you voted in any of your city council elections? If not you're in no place to complain.
kaetz @ Wed Aug 15, 2007 3:11 am

Fact is - the parades bring in a lot of money, they're a major tourist attraction. The taxpayers actually come out ahead.
look, i dunno what geography we are talkin' about right now... i'm rather confused!
gay pride parades are the major attraction in Canada???!!! no shit???

not that simpleas it may look! ever heard of priorities? what about the rest of their political and social programmes? or do you think ppl really vote for them based on their gay-attitude believes???? i guess it goes not in any first lines, yet it may be the point of strong disagreement! welcome to the reality
