i was talking more about STYLE OF LIFE rather then real sexual orientation!

when your fun is to show your ass to my child and to propagate, better forget it and stay at home!
and no! covered genitals won't do it!

If you really want to teach your child that the human body is something to be ashamed of, then don't bring your child to gay pride parades, because there's a slight change you might see some breasts or even a penis. Oh the horror!

Meanwhile, all the violence seen everyday on TV is fine...

Wow! That's a lot of cash we otherwise wouldn't have brought in.

Why do you?

can you read, lily? have you parades, but respect those people who do not want them passing by their houses! it doesn't matter if I personally or Bren or Nova lives in one of them! But this protest exists!
the problem is that these are "minorities", that don't go for a compromise! now if tell me WHY?

Yes I do vote, of course it has nothing to do with the fact some of the seats are taking by gay council members.

Really? What city or town is that? What council members did you vote for and what do they stand for?

kaetz kaetz:
again: do it at a place where you should go purposely for the parade, not in the main streets of the city! why do you want other people to consider your wants but disregard their completely?

Well sure.

I can't speak for other pride parades but in Seattle and Vancouver they're very specific gay areas where kids wouldn't be if not for their parents enabling it.

you're speaking in desperation now! Of course there is hell of a differentce between being not ashamed of your body and exposing it to everybody's observation in the streets! the latter has medical term for it i believe...

AND: when you start holding the parades in Sahara, everybody (not only children, actually), who don't want to see this will be guaranteed from it, AND still would have the access to any part of the city where they probably have things to do safely!

edit: violence on TV is NOT ok! where di i say it was ok? now either quote me, or apologise!

Brenda Brenda:
That is only because the figures (which are not official City-bookkeeping-figures...) might come close to your point of view, and those pictures don't.

No, no. The photos do come close to my point of view but you have to understand that there's only so much room in newspapers and websites for photos so they have to choose only one, or a small few, and they're obviously going to choose photos which attract the most attention, such as a huge fabulous drag queen on stilts. That's what editors do.

So while there might be say 70 floats in a parade, if most of them are visually unappealing and a few of them are an eye-full, they're going to run that that photo alone, giving you the impression the entire parade is like that. It's not deceitful or inaccurate, it’s just that you just have to take it for what it's worth.

The amount of money brought in, however, can be summed up in its entirety in a single sentence.

No that statement is inaccurate. I spoke to how they dress and act at a public tax payer event where children are present. They express themselves in a lewd manner. Look I've gotten on a table and done a strip tease in my own home. Should I be able to promote my heterosexuality by parading with my friends down the street to music and be half clothed and gyrate to the music, whip some one in the ass while wearing black leather fetish wear on the tax payers dime? I collect lingerie and have some seriously different shit. Should i be able to wear that at a parade?

If it's inaccurate, then don't whine about how people dress and act in a way you dislike. And it's not at the taxpayers' expense. How many times do we have to go over this? The city might put up money to pay for policing and paramedic patrols, but they get back so much more in return. I'm just repeating myself now.

If you want to join in the parade and wear your funky sexy lingerie, then fucking do it. If you want to nude at the beach, I really don't care. Do whatever the hell you want as long as you're not threatening other people's right to life, liberty, and property, or abusing animals.

And I'm telling you in my City it's not! No, I don't have the legal right to go naked on the beach. What about the freedom of speech or did you just selectively leave that out. See I have this little thing as well called RESPECT for the children of this city. I don't sashay my ass half naked in lingerie because kids don't need to see that, not to mention if "I" did it i'd be charged for lewd behaviour in public. The difference is I don't put my sexuality (and thats ALL IT IS sexuality) on display and expect the taxpayers to pay for it. Gay, straight is about WHO you do not WHAT you do or WHO you are. I have even heard people discussing going to the parade because they view it as a JOKE!!!!! They are their solely to laugh at it and the little fags, their words not mine.

Nope, no apology from me. Prudes are more concerned with sexuality than violence and it's evident in the fact that they spend more time complaining about nudity than say fights at hockey games or murders on TV. Take Janet Jackson's boob, for example.

BTW, nudity isn't even sexual unless one is aroused and engaged in a sexual act.

There you go again, complaining the taxpayer has to pick up the tab.

What city do you live in? I'm trying to look up gay parades in Nova Scotia but can't find much. Throw me a bone here. I want to find out what you're in a tizzy about having to pay for.
