Obviously, you want them all to have pets, and let them breed whatever they want (they will not neuter them, no money for that), so there will be more stray dogs and cats on the loose, because they cannot take care of them.
As an Animal Rescue and Shelter, we HELP people who cannot afford things during trying times... I mean c'mon $3.20 a month or even $10. a month for a LARGE dog, WHO are you kidding besides yourself? And yes, we have a hard time - cuz of narrow minded people who have nothing to share but a worthless opinion - i wish for you what you have degraded upon others...
WHY exactly are you making this so personal? Did I personally attack you by saying that pets are a luxury? Where the hell do you get the nerve from to call me a worhless little spoiled brat who has nothing to share but a worthless opinion? Who the fuck do you think you are?

like I said 16,900 posts just on CKA
You don't mean me by that, right? Or am I just right, and is it kinda hard to read?
You said that people on Welfare cannot afford to have pets!
You said that people on welfare allow animals to breed...
wow, true colors or what - for someone who has just come to Canada - you seem to know so much - especially about Welfare...

Are you done insinuating?
are you finished?
Give people a break Brenda - one day you never know, the shoe might be on the other foot - life isn't always as we plan it and there are a lot of people out there who are soooo ashamed that they have to take a check - and I did mention in one of my posts that the easiest way to weed out the ones who are mouches or druggies/drunks, is by programs and notifications by landlords and the utility companies - if someone is getting a check for assistance and they are not attending programs or their landlord and/or the utilities complain that the bills are being paid - then adios amigo - close their file... but to say that people who are down and out have to give up their "best friend" over a lousy $3.20 or $10. or less - is wrong - pets are family members, to some they are their kids and in some provinces, people cannot be refused tenantcy because of a pet, it IS a Family Member... I bend over backwards to see to it that people who are down and out get help to keep their pets, older folks who lose a pet (for whatever reason) have been known to die shortly after. A woman who has come through an ugly abusive situation will go over the deep end if they lose the one thing they have left that gives them love... maybe it's too deep for you to understand, but you are young and life could change for you - who knows, I certainly don't wish it, but if you can't take it, then don't dish it.

Sweetheart, you really should learn how to read. I said, people who are on welfare, and profiting from society (which is not everybody on welfare

) and cannot afford a pet (which the profitors can't, otherwise they shouldn't have been on welfare, but have a decent job, which is what this topic is all about...) should not have one.
Necessities in life are things like food, water, electricity, clothes. If you can not afford these 4 basic things, you cannot have a pet. A pet is not a necessity, water, food, electricity, clothes are. Drugs, booze, flatscreen tv's and all that kind of stuff, including pets, is luxury. No necessity. If you can afford these 4 basic things for yourself and your family, everybody have my blessing to have a pet, and take good care of it. But if you have to choose between neutering a pet (, or taking it to the vet or whatever else about the pet), or get your kid a wintercoat, the choice should be the wintercoat. You of all people should know you can only spend your money on one thing at a time.
If you cannot afford to feed your kids properly, why should you want to spend 5 $ on a cat, while your kids don't have hot water to shower, because you couldn't afford to pay the bill?
Clear now?

You think I never hit rock bottom? Hell, are you wrong here

I honestly think that, for someone who is capable of earning themselves a living, welfare should have a 5 year limit. Don't have a job after 5 years? Too bad. You had your chance.

Get a grip, if you cant afford to feed a cat or dog you must be a crack head.. And if you are seriously comparing the financing of a pet to a drug habit, take another toke....Maybe take two and you can get back on topic here..
Well excuse me, but if you have a 1300 $ rent, and a 1500 $ income, you have a bit of a problem feeding yourself, let alone feeding a dog, or have it medicated, don't ya think? Having a pet is more than just food.

I think there are also some other problems with the welfare system. I'll use my aunt as an example. She's an elderly lady with very bad knee and hip problems, so she's on disability pention. She would like to work part time, two or three days a week. However, she can't. Why? Because as soon as she starts making any kind of income whatsoever she cuts cut off 100%. She is incapable of making enough to support herself, so yea. Fucking stupid. She volunteers two or three days a week at the hospital instead.
