What’s next ? Should women that are chronic welfare users have to have their tubes tied cause every time they pop out a kid they get a $150 a month raise.

Free daycare (or almost free, just like for the rest of us ) and get their asses to work. If you can take care of 5 kids, you can clean toilets for a living, or make beds in a hotel.
Daycare in this country closes at 5:30 pm and is closed on Saturday and Sundays for the most part......when you are starting on the bottom rung of the work force at 7.50 or so an hour that is a pretty big road block.
Seeing how beds and toilets are a 24/7 job.

A lot of people work shifts. Why can't a daycare? Or provide a nanny-service.

If you want to get people of welfare, you have to provide for things well, so they can get off welfare.
Indeed ....but that is not the reality of the sitituation in this country. Combine the daycare issuses with the mind set of the people on welfare and we have road block one and two....add the fact that most have lower education and a poor work ethic and the problem expands.
Not everyone on welfare is cheating the system but one thing most of them have in common is the fact they lack the skills to correct they way they live.

This whole topic is non-reality.

The problem of welfare costs is mondial. People can stay on welfare in this country for the rest of their lifes, and drive a car (and driving a car is not necessary here, and very expensive.). It is just the social system that works this way. You can agree with it or not, but if you don't, don't whine, if you don't come up with possible solutions.

Just my $ 0.02

Not all but the majority do lack the skills. Some have lost their job and are working lower paying jobs that don't meet the bills ect... Those types I've not problem with because they are at least trying and doing all they can to increase their living standards and thus attempting to get off wealfare and food stamps.

Just to come back at that...

A low education and a poor work ethic should not be the tax-payers problem. That is no reason to be on welfare for the rest of your life, just because "you don't feel like working". In that case I say: Suck it up princess, and get yur ass in a factory or Timmies.

Btw My father died when i was twelve years old.....My family was on welfare for a time, to correct the sitituation i left school at the age of 13 to help feed my family.
For every dollar i earned towards the household the goverment would clawback the exact same amount.....now thats the way to fix the problem huh?

That is the exact attitude that keeps people down.People of lower education and poor work ethics have more then enough hurdles to over come with out the attitude of sucking it up.

No, i't is not. It is no solution to quit school at 13, and work, while the government stops paying because you earn. It could have ended up adding to the problem. In your case it didn't.

How terrible the situation was, and how good your intentions were, it is no solution to quit that early. No offence, but now you are making a countries problem personal. We were talking about the welfare abusers, who are on welfare life long.

You are contradicting yourself :?

I was lucky many are not...this is not personal(i have less tolerence for those who are cheating the system then most) How do you expect people to improve with out tools.
That is the real question here.

I have said it before: education is the tool. That should be provided. If people don't want to be educated while on welfare, they have a problem.

He's not making it personal - he's providing personal experience to show what it's like for those on welfare. It's a fact that money earned is deducted from your welfare cheque, so what's the incentive to go to work, especially when the job probably comes iwth expenses, like extra gas, possibly parking, daycare...?

And the topic isn't about lifelong welfare abusers - it's for drug tests for those on welfare, regardless of their reasons.

I know what it's like. Been there, done that. Never again.

If the topic was only about drug tests, why is FB defended by you? ;-)
