Is Immigration destroying Canada?

Immigration is good. Canada has never been a "white" country in the first place. This is just an illusion.

There should be reforms:
- Tighten the rules for becoming a refugee
- Increase the time of residency required for citizenship to at least 5 years. 3 years is just too little, you can't even be fully fluent in English/French in that time.
- The citizenship test should include a test on English/French
- For the first 10 years of naturalized citizenship, the new citizen must be in Canada for at least five of these years
- Promote to immigrants Canada's attractiveness as a place to invest and do business, rather than simply loosening immigration laws to try to get more people in
- End all government sponsored multiculturalism, encourage the development of a Canadian identity and the concept of "the Canadian people". i.e. Ethnicity stops at the border, you are all Canadian here.

Not sure what to make of that. I can see where multicultural policy conflicts with free artistry but it must be ensured that there is not forced assimilation or represtion of imagrant cultures.

people should have the individual freedom to follow whatever cultural practices they want, regardless of their race and ethnicity. Unless these cultural practices run counter to Canadian values or impinge on the freedom of others, in which case they must be suppressed. Expressions of culture whether they be of foreign or home-grown origin, that do not run counter to our values ought to be shared with the general Canadian public regardless of ethnicity in the hopes that it may soon become a part of a unique Canadian culture. But this must not be supported by taxpayer funds.

You better go and read Canadian Immigration Services before you submit rubbish like this....half of the things you mention are allready included in the process of obtaining just a pr-visa.....I know...we're waiting 15 months allready for ours.
There's not even a mention of citizenship or anything like that, only a pr-visa

ya.....immigration should have been halted ages ago..... back when that first boat load of limeys came across..... damn thing should have been sunk while it was still at sea.

Legal immigration is great if they go through the proper channels but the illegals need to be taken to the nearest airport and deported period. Toronto and it's love fest with the illegals is scary. Why don't the plucking socialist cough up the money for a change and start paying for their hair brained touchy feeling horsepoo. I'm sick of supporting these lazy idiots. A socialist tax is needed in this country, let the damn bleeding hearts pay for their utopia for a change. They always have their hand out but give the bare minimum in taxes because traditionally they work at low paying jobs that no one with a modicum of education will take.
