Why Are We Rescuing These "Canadians?"

Plastic Canadians...so-called Canadians...fuck boys...just because they dont fit your definition of what a "real" Canadian is doesn't make them NOT Canadian...sorry to tell you. In the eyes of the government, there is no distinction....suck it up.
Let’s hope you never have to put that theory to a test cause I think you'll be surprised.
What theory is that? That the government MAY make a distinction between Canadians?

I thought that was common knowledge.
Now regaurdless of how those 40,000 feel about that little piece of paper that says they have Canadian Citizenship(cause I will admit there is a difference between
having Canadian citizenship and
being a Canadian...example; seperatist), the fact is that they have one. Hence we should get them out. However I dont think we should foot the bill. They paid the people who got them there. They can pay the ones who got them out.

They are being made to pay for their trip.

This whole thread is crap.
Couldn't agree more.
Yesterday I Yesterday I:
*ever login and see a thread you thought must die in a day has since added a half-dozen pages and wonder why people are even discussing this?*
I can't believe people are advocating a position which would produce an international news headline that would read
"CANADA ABANDONS ITS OWN CITIZENS IN LEBANON"
Who here wants to see that headline splashed across the Internet?

Evacuations country by country
Streaker Streaker:
To sum up: It's okay for you to retain your dual citizenship but not for Lebanese Canadians. There's a word that comes to mind here, a word that begins with an H and ends with a Y (with a whole bunch of letters in between), and it leaves a rather unpleasant taste in the mouth.
All lame excuses aside, it's time to put your money where your mouth is:
Renounce your British citizenship.
He doesn't have to "renounce" his citizenship. This isn't a debate about whether we should have dual citizenship or not, it's about people taking advantage of the system.
I'm Canadian born, but I hold dual citizenship with Australia. I've lived and worked there in the past. However, I currently reside in Canada and work here. I pay my taxes to the Canadian government, not Australia's.
If war were to break out in Canada, should Australian taxpayers be responsible for getting me out of here due to my secondary citizenship?
It's not like I'm an Australian tourist stranded over here. I made a conscious decision to live my life here. I have family and support networks here that a tourist wouldn't have. I'm Canadian, for better or worse.

Ah, so it's :
"CANADA HAS ITS FINGER UP ITS NOSE"
I suppose that's marginally better.

Brits are what made up Canada. Before all these So-Called Canadians showed up.
The First Nations made up Canada before the British, the Spanish or the French came along. I guess no one from any of those countries is a "real" Canadian either

It wasn't Canada then. Canada the country is purely a British invention. The British North America Act.
You need to read more history.

It seems you've already implied that having dual citizenship
is taking advantage of the system. Try again.

Ah, so it's only if you've got brown skin that you can't have dual citizenship then.
Brown skin that is loyal is fine by me.
Any colour skin that supports terror isn't.
Pretty easy really.
Support terror = Bad.
Loyal Canadian of any colour or religion= Good.
Would you like it simpler?

You know, I just read ArseOwl's post, and I was going to reply with the same point.
But I figured he was too damn stupid to get it.
But, yes, of course you're right.
