Read the terms of service on this board, they are in english btw
And from what I can see, there is no way of seeing them in French!!!
Where do I complain?
No matter, English or French, there should not be so much bickering about it throughout Canada, IMO.
The Quebec ''separatists'' complain about it, then some in the ROC do the same. So what! There are 2 official languages in this country. Let's all go out and have a ''Canadian'' beer together.

Only if you bring your avatar with you.
lol !
I didn't get to read the link( it doesnt work) but I'd like to respond to the thread title "Canada is English first".....
.....did the OP mean "is" or "was"? I suspect that he is not educated enough to answer that correctly.
I appreciate the French wanting their own language, but I have to confess what is nice about going up to Canada is the ability to speak English and more to the point to be able to enjoy this site.

How long til the Hispanics carve out their own nation?
J/k. Difference between the melting pot and multiculturalism is that the melting pot allows everybody to practice their religion and language in their own homes without interference yet it guides those to adhere to the customs of the particular nation and integrate and multiculturalism has the same thing just more headaches with minorities trying to impose their rights on the majority of people because of political correctness and not adhere to the customs of said nation but keep bitching and whining while wasting tax payers money.

there must be some (french) areas of the USA that you must be too stuffy to enjoy?
''Let us be English, let us be French but most importantly, let us be Canadian''
How do you say; "This is a load of old bollocks." In French?
In either of our languages it's a load of old bollocks.

I totally agree with your sentiment Pimp, that we have, we are and should always get along together.
But the OP does have a point, it's too bad he plugged his blog that which cause the powers that be into action that removed his post. The point is the Olympics is a world event where people from around the world tune in.
It's wrong to have the announcements in French first in
BC not only because its BC but English being the majority language in the country should mean something and our official languages should be represented properly and accurately. The problem is that people who aren't Canadian viewing the event would assume that French is the dominant language when it isn't because of the French first policy of the Vancouver Olympics, that's why some people are a little pissy about it.
French is a recognized and respected language no doubt about it in Canada. But it's important not to ignore the facts of reality on a world stage.
If the Olympics was in Québec some where, I would expect French first for sure. As you probably would, but this was BC.
What this whole thing tells me is that there are a few language zealots in our Federal government that pushed for french first at the Olympics in BC. Honestly if french announcements come second in BC and that ain't good enough that speaks volumes of our Official Bilingualism policy in Canada and how off the rails it is.
I never understood why French was such a problem for so many people. In Europe and many nations around the world native inhabitants know at LEAST two languages. In Europe, it's not uncommon to know AT LEAST three. As if language is such an inflammatory issue for people on both sides. Let's all just calm down and work on our similarities.
Oh, and FYI Bodah, Ottawa is pretty much 1/2 french and when you include Gatineau, Quebec on the other side of the river...

It might be clearer if you lived in the west.
I would like to say in The US "English First".
