It's not paranoia, slick. Google the name David Milgaard, that's one example. How many do you need? One should be it. If there is one that we know about, how many don't we know about?

Amazing that the same justice system that convicts innocents, finds people innocent. Think about it.
Speak english, what the hell are you getting at here?

Sorry, I no longer discuss issues with people who want me dead.

Anyway, I will end my talking to you with these words. If the same justice system that convicts innocents also finds people innocent, how do you know which one is truly the right verdict? Or how about when people who are guilty are found innocent? Is there ever any certainty? Even in the cases where people were 100% sure that the person was guilty, and it turns out they were innocent, how do we know that the 100% innocent, are not 100% guilty?

Anyway, I voted for capital punishment until life in prison means life in prison.

One is one too many.
If we are able to find one with our seriously flawed system, here in Canada, how many must there be? I would imagine the numbers, maybe the percentage, must be similiar in the US.

Robair @ Thu Jun 16, 2005 1:28 pm

Exactly.

Better 1000 guilty go free than one innocent convicted. That is how the system is supposed to work but we both know it's fucked up, right? How can you trust lives to a fucked up system? Odds are innocents have already been put to death.

Get over yourself by the way. I was illustrating a point. You say big deal if an innocent is convicted. That is insane, I was trying to get the point across by saying alright, now you are innocent and on death row, feelings changed?

But I guess not, your head must be a little too thick.

*edit* Not you Hester, the USA schmuck.

Never said "big deal" if an innocent is convicted. Who says those 3300 on deathrow aren't all guilty? Why are you being so hostile?

Anyway, The Shawshank Redemption is a good movie.

It is also ironic the anti-capital-punishment folks who are willing to bend their ethics to make an exception for you. "I'm against capital punishment for the most part, but there's this American who posts on canadaka.net...damn, I want his ass dead!"

As well as the ones who are against the death penalty, but believe that war is the solution to global terrorism, and as an extension to that, believe that abortion is wrong but sending young kids off to die is perfectly alright.

I think you didn't mesh that quote correctly with what you were saying. I know what you were intending, but you goofed up.

Hester @ Thu Jun 16, 2005 1:36 pm

I'm not certain that those who are against capital punishment believe in war. But that is my opinion.
I think capital punishment is wrong, war is not the solution to terrorism, and that abortion should be legalized.

I was gonna put my soapbox away, but I have to keep it near whenever I'm in the forums :D
Though... I have to hide it so that I stay out of some forums...

No, that's right, you didn't. You said I don't lose any sleep over it. I translated that to "I could give a shit". Maybe I shouldn't have?

I hope they are all guilty. What if one isn't? Why are you so indifferent? The topic is whether or not to kill people.

Because they have been convicted as guilty of heinous crimes and I did not follow every single case- so therefore, as it stands right now of their guilty convictions, I hope they all rot in Hell.

Innocent until proven guilty. They've been proven guilty.

By a flawed system.

You know who David Milgaard is? The Shawshank redemption was a movie.. this is real life, get it?
