Why would this ever be heard in a courtroom? It's not a criminl matter?

It can be. If the USADA decides to push it they can press perjury charges against Armstrong for his previous denials. The same thing happened to Barry Bonds.

However, if the USADA goes all in on Armstrong I would not be surprised to see either Obama or Romney end the agency next year due to the backlash of public opinion that's swelling up right now.

Did you miss the fact he passed ALL his drug tests?

If there are credible witnesses, it doesn't matter. There are well known ways to avoid getting caught.

They are either not taking the fall, or jealous. I would hardly call them credible. But what I do I know.

I don't know what trumps passed drug tests, but whatever. I guess an eye witness is more important than DNA too.

Robin Williams had a good reponse to those who complained about Armstrong's supposed doping...it was chemotherapy you assholes. So really, as hasw been pointed out already, Armstrong still holds his 7 championships because the US authorities over stepped their authority and pulled an Alexander Haig.

People have been passing drug tests for decades, but were doping nevertheless. It's not enough to simply not fail a drug test.

So did Carl Lewis, FloJo, Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens and your point is?

Sorry Brenda but passing a drug test means sweet fuck all since American Athletes have proven over and over again that they use performance enhancing drugs without getting caught till after their careers are over and they've made their millions.

....and then brag about not getting caught, like that bitch Lewis did. Bolt needs to punch that prick in the head

Criminal matters only comprise roughly 20% of the caseload of the court system. Tort, probate, family, traffic, municipal, make up the vast majority of cases that go before the court systems. If I were to come on this site and state that you were shirking your duties as a professor because I disagree with your views on[insert subject matter here],or libel you in other ways....you would be entitled to your day in court. That is how it should be. There are laws against slander, and libel. Someone making unsubstaniated claims against people on a public media is exactly what gave Joe McCarthy all his power. He could mearly hint at someone being communist, and their life was ruined. Many of the people that Joe accused were indeed communist, but what if you were not? How do you prove your innocence? You are seen having a beer with someone on a blacklist, and you are now on the blacklist yourself. It should take more than just hearsay from disgraced backstabbing teammembers, disgruntled exemployees, jilted ex lovers,or political blowhards with an ax to grind to strip a person of all their achievements in life.

He has remained his innocence all those years. You don't think this is a witch hunt?

IF he used, kudos to him for not getting caught. Prove that he did. He passed all his tests, so you can't. You are just assuming.

It is assumed I sold crack to disabled babies, just because Benn and 2CDo say so. I am guilty now? Just good at hiding?

Comparing Armstrong's troubles to the McCarthy hearings is pure hyperbole. Nobody has gone after Armstrong with some McCarthyesque agenda. They've just seen cheating and reported what they've seen. They haven't gone looking for anything.

Armstrong being a cheat is neither a criminal nor a civil matter and, therefore, would have no place before the courts. Clearly Armstrong doesn't WANT this to come before any sort of tribunal. His decision to drop his defense is a clear indication that he knows the evidence against him cannot be explained. If you want to believe Armstrong is not a cheater, hey, that's your right. I've done my homework. I've read a fair bit on the subject and my conclusion is that he is a cheater. I don't need a jury to interpret the facts and render a decision on my behalf. I'm capable of drawing my own conclusions. I'm not calling him a criminal. I'm not accusing him of anything more than being a cheater and a liar. I'm not angry at him. I feel sorry for him. It saddens me to see heroes fall. But he brought it on himself. Fuck Barry Bonds. Fuck Roger Clemens. Fuck Mark McGwire. Fuck Ben Johnson. Fuck Lance Armstrong.

It'd be better if Ben Johnson stuffed his boot up his ass since he's the one Lewis laughed at for all those years and to be honest if that fuck Carl Lewis gets to keep his gold medal why doesn't Ben Johnson have one since they both cheated?

Did you miss the part about witnesses?

$1:
The USADA previously claimed it has witnesses who allege that Armstrong and five former cycling team associates - including Italian doctor Michele Ferrari and team manager Johan Bruyneel - engaged in a doping conspiracy between 1998 and 2011.

And Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf reported in July that George Hincapie and fellow American Tour de France riders Dave Zabriskie, Christian Vande Velde and Levi Leipheimer testified against Armstrong.

Some assumption huh? Unlike if you were selling crack to babies, Armstrong had the option of bowing out of the proceedings without fear of reprucussion to anything other than his reputation and he took it rather than face the music.

At least this way there will always be people like you who think that he's innocent and that the rest of the world is just out to get him cause he's so famous, sexy, rich or whatever, when the reality appears to be something completely different.

They can try but I don't think they'll have anymore luck than the Senate Committee did with Barry Bonds, who, given the Armstrong critera, is as we all know completely innocent of using performance enhancing drugs and was only subject to a witch hunt.
