Blah, blah ,Industrial age, blah,blah. I dont believe either of you know what the hell it is you are talking about. All I know is that I love Canada and being Canadian. Thats just me. Im still trying to figure out why most of you halfwit idiots are on a Canada Kicks Ass website if you hate the country and/or being patriotic? I come here to read good things about my country and discuss its greatness.

   

First of all the competitiveness between the European countries at the time caused their governments to invest in technology and industrializing their countries. As a result scientists like Einstein were paid good money for their inventions causing more and more inventors to come about. Believe me I learned about it last year when i was in 9th grade. And by the way what would become of the Olympics and other great competitions without national pride.

   

By the way everyone we need more Canadians in this fun and free game on the internet at Modern War. It is a competitive game, you can be one of many countries and it is like you rule one part of Canada. You can go to war with other countries and etc. Try it out we only have about 15 Canadians playing for Canada.

   

Why would going to war with other countries be fun?

   

just try it out its pretty cool, and it is not all about war, its about building your part of the country and you and some other Canadians control different parts of different provinces and you build up your army, population, powerplants, you discover new lands and more.

So without competition you think that technology wouldn't advance? All I'm trying to say is that patriotism is lame and it would be much better if their was a rule of the land, and not so many divisions and different names for people, like Canadian and American. What, you people think there should be divisions between humanity?

What would become of the olympics is that people would compete with people. I used to play baseball against other people of my country and there was plenty of competition. All that having different nations does is make people think that their country and people are better than another if they beat them, which creates divisions between large numbers of people. Man has always been a discovering species and has always had a need to figure out, so I don't buy the competitiveness arguement. When Rome was on top they didn't have any competition, yet they still came up with tons of things(unless you think the barbarians were competition).

Just because a country invested in industry does not tell how the industrial revolution came about. I believe more in evolution has the reason why the world advances than patriotism. To me patriotism is actually a handicap because it pits nations against nations, when who knows what could happen if every nation was one and we all worked together....you may call me a dreamer(haha).

   

Im glad i live in Canada. I love it here and i don't know of any other country i would want to live in. But im not a patriot. I have a bias becasue i was born here, i didnt get to chose this country. Patriotism seperates people, and alienates people. Im from Earth...GO EARTH!!!

I came here because I hate patriotic people, and you all don't just come here to talk about how much Canada kicks ass, you come here and bash the US, and talk about how great you are, which is why I hate patriotic people. When will you people start thinking beyond being Canadian? I also come here because I like to argue with people and maybe change their mind about how they think of things. I guess if you want to be patriotic and create divisions between humanity than go ahead. It seems so much more reasonable to me to consider oneself human, and not american or canadian. Why would you love being Canadian when it creates divisions in humanity.

   

Just what I'm trying to say, love earth. Nothing bad about loving the land you live on, but there is something bad about loving being Canadian and bragging about it.
