The problem with THIS view is that too many people in the US, IMO, do not hold an INFORMED view on specific IMPORTANT subjects.
...and that is a problem.

You know IronMike I have to agree with you. I think Celine Dion is the worst thing Canada has exported in a long, long time. Why is it that the only time you hear an artist is Canadian (when in the US) is if they SUCK??!!
I'm surprised the US gov't hasn't imposed a huge tariff on any of her CD's.

Well, quite frankly if she were american.....she would still suck right along with britney and her slag tongue friends. Shania is an example of a well known Canadian Artist that Americans love. Hate to disagree but ...

We need an island to send these people to...Celine, Shania, all the boy bands, all those little girls who sing on Pepsi commercials. Let's give 'em a home of their own, one without electronics so they can't export their wailings to us.

I really don't see what you all are talking about being ridiculed for your celebrity exports. i have never heard anyone bitch about anyone except celine. Even I have to say that she is uncalled for.

Until now, the adoration that Wayne Newton gets in Vegas completely dumbfounded me.... but NOW???

There are plenty of good-looking women around...why not pick one who either has taste in music or the good sense not to sing in public? Shania isn't just an embarrassment to Canada, she's an embarrassment to the entire human race.
Maybe we can strap her to the next probe we send to the out planets?

Despite this there are good number of people who overcome this kind of social programming. These are the people you see calling for reason and sanity in America today all the while the majority of Americans completely believe the daily dose of lies coming from the White House. After 500 odd posts of my own, somebody has finally summed up what I've felt for a long time.

This is a dangerous position don't you think? This statement kind of sounds like if you hate George B. (for example) you are obviously like me, thus correct and smart....maybe even handsome but if you like George B, well then obviously your parents were brother and sister and strove to make sure your education was the worst they could attain for you. This is kind of a dangerous jump of logic isn't it?

Maybe I'm just to much of a conformist eh? After 501 posts, Iron Mike summed it up absolutely perfect. I agree with his post and I believe in President Bush. Thank God for the men and women and the ultimate sacrifice some have given. God Bless all the american troops and thier allies. I shutter to think of chretien being the one to make life and death decisions. I'm quite sure he'd have a nervous breakdown.
