Canadian law allows for self defense.
So you are allowed to kill someone before anything happened? I can shoot someone because I suspect him of going to rape me, someday?
That's not even close to what I said.
Jheeeesh.
No. As usual, you said nothing, but butt in again without adding anything.
Geeeeeeesh

^^^^ In those cases, the courts will msot likey not listen to the defendant, but let's say for example that a guy comes out of an alley, charging at me with a knife, there's another eye-witness, and instead of giving this guy my stuff, I decide to put him in the hospital... I am completely in my rights to do so. If you are a Canadian citizen and if someone is attacking you and your life is truly in danger, you have every right to fight back and put that person in the hospital. If you end up killing them, it will more than likely go down as a case of manslaughter...
Exactly. Yes.
You
can be charged. Not for murder, per say, but for something.
Not quite. If he comes at you with a knife, but doesn't make to attack you, just says to hand over your shit, you will be charged, most likely with murder. If he takes a swing at you that's different. Canada's self defense laws = shite. Not that it really matters either way. It's better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6. If a guy comes at you with a knife, own his face regardless.

...
How did this get from Religious Homophobia to Defining Self-Defence?

This statement by you:
"Even so, If a person kills one person on purpose, but saved 500 others on purpose, it doesn't matter, he killed a person.
A "bad" thing someone/something does means more because good doesn't harm anyone.
So even if religion causes good, it causes a lot bad."
No offense, if you're going to compare religion to a murder, things like this would be brought up. Plus religion doesn't do bad, people do bad.

Without the jury trial

You asked about self defense in Canadian Law, so I responded. Who the hell knows how you figured I said you could kill someone because they might *someday* rape you.
Seriously shaking my head here, Brenda.[/quote]
Next time, read the post I was responding to. CommanderKai's this time. Really, you should try it, and you would understand.
Don't shake it too hard. A lot of nasty things can happen from that.

You have be good at cleaning eh?

Selfdefence rights just suck. If you are not cut by that knife, how are you gonna claim selfdefence?

If they were in your house with a weapon, if they were a crazed junky with a history of crime, if they're a violent divorcee with a history of violence or threats, etc etc etc.

Cleaning? Fack no. Ocean = crabs = eats bodies. Bricks and nets are a must.
Well they would probably have a knife in hand, and if his finger prints are all over it, and yours aren't, one can make a reasonable assumption. And I know what your thinking, gloves or something. Yeah there will always be something, but hell, it's better to put the fucker in the ground than to try and set it up so you can't be fucked by the long dick of the law.

I can't see that in the dark, I have no clue if he has a history, still, not toiuched or hurt is not a reason to kill anyone ...
You can not play your own judge. That is why we have laws. You have to prove your life was in danger, and without an injury, you can never proof that. That is the way the law turns out to be. Might not always be fair, but killing a drunk neighbour because you thought he was trying to rape you, while he was just in the wrong house, is not really fair either, is it?
Tricks @ Sun Jun 08, 2008 9:19 pm
Key word is weapon there Brenda. Drunk neighbour shouldn't be in your house with a weapon.

well... hmmmm... I would have me cut first though... So at least I can claim selfdefence... Or cut myself afterwards with his knife (and gloves on

)
It wouldn't be the first time that the attacker goes free, while the victim does time...

No, but he could rape me. And according to the post I posted to, that is a reason to attack too...

If he's drunk and on top of you, you can assume he's trying something. If you see a grown man on top of a screaming 8 year old, I'll assume he's trying something not right.

I prefer him not on top of me or my daughter. At that point, it is assault already.
You claimed you did a good deed to kill this man BEFORE he was doing anything.
