Jesus Camp
This kind of thing should be illegal... like child abuse.
The interviewer in this clip nailed it.
These people are indoctrinating children, not teaching them.

For those who have a visceral reaction to these extremist Christians I'd also appreciate it if you'd have the same reactions when muslims say and *do* things that are just as bad if not worse.

I would have the same negative reaction to any religion doing such things as shown in this short clip from the film. It's just that I have more experience of it from a Christian point of view, having been to charismatic, evangelical-type churches in the past where they behave as in this film.
I found my experiences of these churches thoroughly off-putting and it's part of the reason why I have been against religion for so long, plus the whole idea of 'we are the chosen people, when Jesus comes again we will all rise up to Heaven and everyone else will be screwed even if they're our family or our best friends'. Then there's the whole thing of 'our religion is the only true religion' but then again most religions say that I believe. Then there's the bigoty aspect, such as the whole anti-gay thing. I'm heterosexual myself but I certainly don't believe in demonising an entire community because of who they are and what they do.

Interesting clip, yes the interviewer was right.

Kay then....
I'm scared...
.......................
If anyone wants to help me find this building and burn it down....
Actually, I don't care. As long as this type of thing keeps away from me and does not reep into politics and suck the sence out of anyone it nears....
Personally, my kids wouldn't even know such a building existed.
No worries. Jesus Camp has closed. They thought it was going to be good publicity.

But, that's the thing; these people do want to get into politics. There's a part in
Jesus Camp where the kids at the camp are praying to a cardboard cut-out of GWB.

ooohhhh shit, Christian Extremists. Just start praying they don't turn out like the Muslim Extremists. Terroists.
All hell will be unleashed on Earth if they go down that road.
If those were Muslims and not Christians, liberals would be pointing to this as evidence that not all are terrorists. Man, if you find this "shocking" from another country you should see what's happening at your local mosque.

Christian, Muslim... any religionist. These are the results when the stupid and the arrogant get together to foister any Truth.
The frightening aspect of all this is how easily children are coerced into.... anything.
Were it taboo to introduce children to any religious doctrine before they were 18 years of age, organised religions would disappear in less than two generations.

I think we have worse things to worry about then children being taught a religion. How about children roaming the streets commiting crimes, stealing cars, and selling drugs. You might not like religion but let's focus on an actual problem.

Indeed, our educators - parents, teachers and role-models seem to be teaching inadequately, particularly to those who become criminals or zealots.

What I find disturbing is all the time and effort you spend pissing your pants about Christians when there is a religion out there that is actually DANGEROUS. Where is the thread about all the madrassas? They didn't teach these christian kids how to make vest bombs, now did they? There is no concept of 'jihad' in christianity, now is there?
