In Canada it is only the CPC that denies and there are only a few scientists who do. They identify themselves as Conservative.

The Conservative party does not deny climate change. They are just not as eager to simply throw a carbon tax on something that probably won't do much good anyway. Even the BC Liberals are rethinking their carbon tax.

Well to be fair here, the BC Liberals are more likely rethinking the carbon tax due to the horrific political mess they are in because of the HST, Gordon Campbell, Christy Clarke, and a dozen other massive blunders in the last few years.

They will likely float anything that gives them a shot at winning the election next year.

What's the GOMC?

Grumpy Old Man Club. Its the pathetic cabal who has nothing to do all day long but call others names and distract legitimate conversation with unrelated personal attacks.

Hahah.. I love the red team -vs- blue team atmosphere around here. It's a very refreshing change from the entertainment gossip and sport trivia that I seem to find elsewhere.

Sounds like you're tired of it now. Maybe the sports trivia and entertainment gossip weren't so bad.

Red -vs- Blue was a political analog.. This libelous mud slinging, is beneath this forum and I'm completely fed up with it. It's rare that a civilized conversation happens anymore.

And civility is only the thin veneer that hides the ugly nature of man.

Well I'll make you a deal. Starting the moment you answer this post with a yes or a no is the time when you and I see if we can maintain a civil dialogue or carry on as per normal.

Interested?

Honestly, it is getting quite "bitey", as someone said in a pm, around here lately. There's plenty of it from all sides though, and plenty from people whom I otherwise have a lot of respect for. I've decided to just ignore it and try to avoid conversations that get too derailed by the ugly stuff. Or at the very least ignore the ugliest of the posts. I'm hoping that in time everyone will calm down a bit and get back to the vigourous but mostly respectful discussions that used to happen more often.

Well, I'm fed up.
