Sadam posed no threat to us at all, if he lived in Cuba or South America he'd have been a tin-pot dictator of a Banana republic. The Castro of the East if you will.
Did Castro commit genocide?
Did the US support that genocide?
No.
Define support.

Examples that are not acceptable : EVERYTHING about America is bad , America is the source of ALL the world's problems, ALL Americans are stupid, America is to blame for EVERYTHING that's wrong in this world.
Perfectly acceptable : George Bush is not as smart as your average chimp - but has a similar appearance, Alot of Americans are ignorant and boorish,Brittany Spears has very little talent, American foreign policy is often hypocrtical - and causes more problems than it solves,Rush Limbaugh is a big , fat , hypocritical , drug addict.
Hope that helps a little.
So we can talk about the people just not about the PEOPLE.. ahhhh I get it
thank you. i hate it when people judge our whole country cuz one asshole said something stupid.
but when that one asshole happens to be sitting behind a desk in the oval office it tends to generate problems round the world..
perhaps that was a little harsh.. shouldn't have used your words in context...Americans and Canadians are like brothers it has been said we may differ of view points but for most things we disagree just like a happy dysfunctional family.
People of the US are really no different then Canadians just they have a lot more and a lot have better tans....

Even if castro commintted genocide, How can anyone accuse the US of supporting it? What kind of support do they think the US gave castro?

Thats it folks, no more American bashing.. Let he who is with out sin cast the first stone. We sit here and pass judgment on another country when we should be trying to do something about fixing OUR OWN COUNTRIES PROBLEMS.. So any more American bashing I see will be deleted, no ifs ands or buts...
Back to the original topic, I think this is a great idea. We don't realize how much bashing we really do. When I was attached from CFJSR to USCENTCOM in Florida (I know, tough gig), I met my wife. She came back with me to Canada for about 18 months and she had never felt more uncomfortable in her life. I was embarrassed by how much "anti-Americanism" had become a part of our national lifestyle. What really hurt her, were the small, everyday comments about the "stupid Americans".
Now, I'm down in the US living with her. Between here in Pennsylvania and my time in Florida and a short 6-month stint in Minnesota, I have never heard anything bad or intolerable being said about Canadians. Worst-case scenario, I have had to put up with an igloo or an indoor plumbing joke. Nothing compared to what she had to put with. The worse part of it all was that I didn't even realize how bad it (US bashing in Canada) was because it had become such a normal part of our lives.
Food for thought - nothing more, nothing less.
