Are you sure your not about 14. I lived in Canada for 3 years mostly in Toronto. (Canada's lame excuse for a world class city) But I traveled through out Canada while working there. I met the most hypocritical people in my life while there. They would say American are racist and then in the same breath say Pakis smell. I dont even want to start on how your goverment treats the Native Indians. Not to mention what they say about Americans. Just make a note when you say all Americans are dumb rednecks thats a racist remark. Multiculturaism? Its a liberals way of saying I dont want my son or daughter to marry a nigger, spic, or paki. Or anyone thats not white. Liberals are the real rasicts. Melting pot means cultures will assimilate and become one. As it has through all of history.

Canada is not liberal its communist your middle class is melting away because its taxed to no end. The more I made in Canada the more I got taxed. I got a $10,000 dollar raise it came out to a whopping $100 more a week. The rest went to Jean Chretiens contracts. I love your "free healthcare" breaking news ITS NOT FREE! You pay for it in your taxes. Canadian tax rates are some of the highest in the world. I get to chose who will provide my healthcare. Tell the goverment you wont pay your taxes cause you have your own healthcare provider. You go to jail. Wow thats freedom of choice there.

P.S. My wife is Canadian and she loves it here. She could not beleive how good our healthcare system was compared to Canada.

Great post NYC. I know what you mean on the healthcare issue. Canadians are still manipulated into believing they have one of the best healthcare systems, especially next to the U.S. Only problem is that recent studies and polls would prove otherwise. In fact, Canada is the only country in the developed world where its citizens are prohibited from purchasing private healthcare, which is why many of them come to the U.S for services when the waiting list is too long for treatment in Canada. These polls conducted during the U.S and Canadian elections show the discrepency that exists when it comes to priorities:

important for Canadians."

So tell me, if healthcare in the U.S is "so terrible" then why isn't
it such a major issue? Why is it I dont hear about it as much as I do
in Canada? Canadians have to ask themselves the hard questions here.

LOL NYC that is so true. The double standard that exists in Canada is so hypocritical, I mean it has become so bad in Canada that it seems like its politically correct to criticize and make fun of Americans yet the opposite when it comes to other groups such as Pakistani's, Israeli's, or chinese. For example Rick Mercers (forgive spelling) "Talking to Americans" series is so insulting, its unbelievable...it gives the perception that all Americans are ignorant bafoons...further adding to the stereotype that exists. Yet if the series was called "Talking to Africans" and it pointed out the ignorance concerning the modern world...then the left would be coming out yelling all kinds of profanity saying it stereotypes, its racism, its hate, etc. It's just this double standard that exists in the left wing majority of Canada yet nobody talks about it. So if its stereotyping the so called "red necks" thats fine, cause their just ignorant white Americans but if its any other stereotype concerning minorities then thats just plain hate and racism. Is this really what "multiculturalism" is all about? Pounding on the majority culture yet nurturing the minority culture. This sounds like hate to me, more of a self-hate.

Hey NYC, have you read Tammy Bruce's book "The New Thought Police: Inside the lefts assault on free speech and free minds"? It has a really great argument concerning this double standard that exists in society and how the left's vision's of multiculturalism is actually segregating society. I really recommend this book.

Saying that all americans are **** is not racist, it may be considered predjudice (not if I'm saying it tho cause I didn't pre-judge, mine was from years of careful study and immersion in the culture), unless you think that being america is a race, (you probably do). Yes, we are not a melting pot, we believe in giving everyone their own space instead of making sure they become exactly like us. That seems to be the major issue with american forien policy as well.

I went to the hospital here for knee sergury and it cost me out of pocket $4,500 + I went in an american hospital and I still owe $28,000 just to be seen, $48,000 for surgery, $56,000 for ONE WEEK hospital stay, My mother is a Head Nurse in arizona, (she's moving back here in one month) She can tell you all about over priced health-no-care, Hell, when I met my wife, she worked for Intergroup Healthcare and dealt EVERY DAY with people who couldn't afford their pills and bills. (Why do you think they are all coming up here now). We don't live under the Queen... Try learning something about ANYTHING in the world. We are an independent and sovergn country, we just happen to know where the roots of our country come from and don't go around dissing it, like some children making fun of elders.
The americans in Jonestown were just doing the world a favor. You guys need more of them.

If you had bothered to read this whole post instead of jumpin' ta conclusions, you would know that I do a lot for this country and will continue to do so. We lead the world by example, you guys are just bullies without brains.

NYC is a dump. Its covered in trash, it's run by trash, and the only thing in it is trash, rats and cockroaches. And it is the perfect desciption on what all of america strives to be.

Sgt. Mills Ive lived in the U.S several times and I love it here. In fact, this has been the 3rd time ive moved to the U.S I think and I have been here almost a year and it's been the best experience I have had. I learned so much concerning the politics that goes on here. People from Montana to Nevada have been so nice to me and my wife after we were kicked out of Canada. You see my wife is American and she overstayed her visitors visa by about a month due to miscommunication and a misunderstanding. She was given only one week to get out of Canada. Her whole experience with Canadians has been terrible, including many other Americans Ive met, who have said that the border and immigration officials are extremely rude to them and always hassle them. Yet as a Canadian citizen I have had the best experiences with U.S border and immigration officials...they were extremely polite and understanding if I got into a sticky situation.

So my experience has been very good down here. In fact life has been alot easier, cost of living is cheap, jobs are plentiful and saving money has been much easier as opposed to when I lived in Canada. Here I have limitless opporunity, in Canada middle class is the best anyone can do. IN here if you work hard, you get rewarded but in Canada you work hard and you get taxed to death. What kind of reward is that? Reward the unsuccessful and punish the successful? Thats not right. On top of that I lived in Alberta where that province has the most economic freedom in Canada...yet I was still struggling. Now I live in Nevada, one of the states with the most economic freedom in the U.S and life couldn't be better. In fact I talked to another Canadian living in Nevada and she said she was able to save 7 times more than her Canadian friend who made the same wage as her...and she said the low taxes really helped her here, on top of that she has more buying power.

So really, what is wrong with Canada and why wont any of its citizens wake up??

I do miss alot of things though, like Tim Hortons and Canadian hockey as well as friends and family...just like most ex-patriats who live down here.
