Ahhhhhhhh!
So we sit here and blow smoke up each others asses. Got It!
I am so proud how people in other countries sit around thinking what great peace keepers we are! And the best part is all it costs is blue paint and rifles and the USA covers the rest of the bill!
Thats does feel better dude. Well I am going to watch the CBC (GOOOOO CRTC!!!)
Don't worry about people with no sense of humor. Eventually their dry, bitter hearts just crumble into powder, and they stop dead in middle of their crabby, closed-minded rants.
Yes, the website is funny. Yes, Celine Dion is nearly attractive, but instead quite peculiar-looking.
Is it 99% true?
I say it's 72.284% true.
And damned be he who dares deny it.

I would call the fire department for that.
For each dollar Canada does not spend on defence the USA has to spend other. The Canadian goverment relies on this and uses money the should be spent on defence to get re-elected and to "please" Quebec. If there was a war Canadian would be caught with its pants down.
Wrong wrong wrong. The fact is that Canada relies on diplomacy and friendship between countries. What country threatens us? What country has ever threatened us? Please review the history and tell me.
Don't dredge up some bollocks about the communist menace because we all know thats a pile of shite.
Should any credible threat arise our citizens would respond faster the you could say "Canada was in WW1 & WW2 long before the US was".
We have never failed to help you guys when you needed it. Our navy helped out in N.O. and I seem to recall our troops are aiding you in Afganistan right now. Good to know that CDN tax dollars are being spent to hunt down people who are angry mostly at you and probably don't even know we exist.
Your appreciation is noticed.

How about we just go with Germany for the history lesson

I was in the Canadian Army. If you believe that your the one that should look at history. It wouldn't be the first time we were un-prepared for war.

Again..you guys? I am Canadian. Navy? We have like 5 ships and they are small. In the Gulf Canada had 18 F-18's. the US had 18,000. The Canadian army sent there was deemed "unfit for combat" and was giving prisoner guard duty <---bet your the Canadian goverment didn't tell you that!

Well, you obviously don't know anything about the navy but hey, that's alright right? Canada has more than 5 ships and they are far from small, look up Canadian navy. 18,000 planes? Besides being statistically impossible, are you sure about that? Bet you the Canadian government didn't tell you that!

Yes, lets. Lets examine all the history behind what caused the war and the very likely possibility that there may have never been an actual invasion threat to Canada.

Somehow I doubt it. If Canada is producing soldiers that think like you then we need to change enlistment citeria.

Then on yer bike. Tell your US masters to stop "protecting" us so we won't have to hear about you bitching all the time.

Could you please give me an instance when Canada has been defended by the USA? Or how about directing me to exactly how they are protecting us? Last time I checked the US had no bases nor men stationed here. Not to mention the glaring fact that we haven't been attacked or threatened by anyone. I guess I should thank the USA for that?

Exactly, too many people seem to keep thinking this and unfortunately it becomes a sterotype of Canada that is unwarrented and untrue. It seems the prime argument among many Americans or advocates and well, you know how arguing with a brick wall feels like right?
Actually, Canada has been threatened by bin Laden in one of his video tapes naming Canada a target so technically we have been threatened.

OK good point, and our soldiers are over there doing there part to protect us. I can't stand it every time someone says the USA is protecting us and it's even worse when it comes from an uninformed Canadian.
Tman1 @ Fri Mar 17, 2006 9:25 pm
Actually you made a point in which we should thank the US. Just living next to the US makes us a very good target. However, it's up to us to protect ourselves.
fifeboy @ Sat Mar 18, 2006 10:34 am
Bin Laden?? Wasn't he trained by the americans? Where does this threat come from??? If there is a terror attack, who do we thank for it???
When have we not responded to a true world crisis? Usually not of our making, we really have done a good job of responding.
Not in Iraq, well, we missed out on finding all those WMD and saved all those lives. In Afganistan, isn't that a U.N. or NATO thing?
I have always believed we should leave people alone unless we are asked for help.

The U.S should be thanking Canada for being its neighbour.Just think if Russia,or China was your neighbour.
If a little island named Cuba can get your feathers ruffled...

page, but he's right about Celine, Avril, sports, Air Canada, Les Quebecios, and a dozen or so other things, back bacon and Kraft Dinner included.

I actually found the whole thing hilarious!
For those here who get all upset and angry, lighten up! It's called satire and some things were close to the truth! Thats what made it so funny! Canadian culture is based on anti-Americanism, for some on this site that is 100% true! For some in the Liberal party, the same!
