If you can read French....

Canada slides towards becoming a police state.

In the end, who is reponsible for the sanctions?

Nope, wrong. Saddam was.

I think the story is a bit deeper, but I can't disagree. Saddam was a ruthless twat and deserves to be cleaned. Sanctions, in theory, was a good idea. The problem comes on how to read the mismanagement of the issue. The UN is only as good as its parts. Where did it really fail? If you soley listen to Bush, the blame lays elsewhere. Since it has been placed into fashion to discredit the UN, made of its many parts, which parts failed the process to result the outcome of war? Obviously, in my humble opinion, (and it seems many others) this wasn't about democracy. The UN has been scape goated and discredited on a international level for the benefit of a few. As for Saddam, cap the fucker for all I care, but don't stop there, cap his accomplices and those who proped the fucker up. They are equally guilty. Then there will be justice.

Actually, it WAS the UN. Please do yourself a favor and open a history book and read it.

All those that propped Saddam up includes the US admin. of then, which now do all the work behind Bush Jr. (Funny how the story gets twisted around). They ( Rumsfeld to name one) were shaking Saddam's hand as he gased the Kurds, another reason why Iraq needed to be invaded (double speak). The US is just cleaning up their own mess, a plan built up over many long years.

That reminds me of something funny I heard, I think it was on Air Farce.
The reason the U.S. is so sure that Iraq had WMD is because they have the reciepts at home. :)
