This morning I looked out the window and saw a US helicopter no more than four or five klicks out and watched as three frigates and a cruiser came and went to Bremerton via the Straits. Esquimalt is mostly empty and seems abandoned.

I doubt that very much since that is the main Canadian Pacific base for the fleet, and of course im sure you have security clearance to scope out everything right?

CFB Esquimalt? Secure? I rode my bike in there to go look at the big drydock and visit the enlisted's club on Saturday. There was no challenge and a lovely ensign even said 'Hello!' to me. (made my day!)

On the other issues I agree with you that Canada needs to invest more in defence and the remainder will be revealed by the future.

Well i'll just have to take your word for it since i've never been there.

There are only minor security requirements for the enlisted's club as they are outside HMC Dockyard. Hence, the 'lovely ensign." Try riding in to take a look at the frigates and that might bring you a different response from the guard at the gate. :)

Damn nice place, a little tight by my tastes, but very nice. There's room for a pretty decent size fleet and it is sad to see nothing in the harbour to speak of and precious little along side. The enlisted club is excellent, btw.

I saw the gate, did not see the guard. No one challenged me at all. I rode up to the graving dock and took a peek over the side - huge thing it is. Perhaps there is tighter security when something is happening and perhaps the buildings are secured. But this past Saturday at about 10am PST there was no one at the gate to check me in and at about 10:30 there was no one to see me off, either. The ensign, btw, I ran into that comely lass on the road up to the museum which was quite informative. In all my trips to Victoria I'd never been in that museum although I've been to the BC museum, Craigdarrogh, Mt. Tolmie, Butchart Gardens, and Point Ellice House.

I'll be off at the Sticky Wicket tonight if it isn't too damn noisy. Tall Yank with red hair and a bright red shirt with a small US flag on it.

If you see me say "Hi!" and the first one's on me! [BB]

And you get nomination for being useless.

thanks. I already asked for that one though, they wouldn't give it to me... wonder why?

Esquimalt is pretty slack, although most bases in canada are. CFB comox especially. I accidently rode my bike onto the tarmac looking for where the annual cadet parade. turns out we were suppost to meet at the mess hall.

arn't we suppost to be talking about hans island though? I figure we should have 2 jets atleast continuously up there for one week befor the ship arrives to one week after. if anyone lands it'll be an air to ground missle shoved up their asses.

Seriously, who cares? We should build a hockey rink on the borderline, and have a yearly hockey game to decide who gets it.

didn't you care when you were arguing with the guy with the funny avatar earlier?

Not really. I asked for information, and he refused to tell me what he was talking about, thus still not giving me any reason to care.

No, I did answer you, you just choose not to acknowledge it for some reason that only your little mind can fathom. I chose not to repeat the obvious. You don't care? Why are you on this thread if you don't care? You don't care because you don't bother reading what others write and decide to pick fights instead. You keep repeating that you read the entire thread...

Ok, how about this back on page 2:

1. It's our Island and always have and always will be.
2. If we cede it to denmark, our international prestige(what little there is) will worsen and our ability to defend our national territory will ultimatly go down the drain.
3. The U.S claims it as "International" waters...why? Because the U.S doesn't give a crap what anybody else thinks.....solution? Put military outposts everywhere in the arctic(particularly the passages) and claim it.
4. Giving in to a lowly country like Denmark will disgrace us more unless we assert ourselves on the Island. Like it or leave it, it will be of benefit in the long run with the oil and other natural resources later.

Proof or not, this is my opinion, but of course you "saw" no such information. Again, why repeat it?

The link is right there so don't claim you read the thread because you didn't. In fact, it probably answers most of your illiterate questions.

Give it up IceChicken, I have exposed your lies and see no reason to continue your haunting of this thread so stop trying to discredit me with your BS and admit you did not read the thread at all.

Okay, let me finish up this ridiculous argument, since you're so insistent on beating the dead horse (you seem to have a thing for it.. might want to get that checked out.)

You: No, I did answer you.
Me: No you didn't.
You: Yes I did.
Me: Nope, pretty sure you didn't.
You: No, I answered you.
Me: No you didn't.
You: Yes I did.
Me: Nope.
You: Yes.
Me: No.
You: Yes.
Me: No.
You: Yes!
Me: No!
You: Yes!
Me: No!
You: Yes!
Me: NooooOOO!!

And then I win.

If you'd like to play again, please send me a money order for $50.

ROTFL Spoken like a true coward you piece of shit. Whats wrong? Did I catch you and your lies and now you cannot respond? Insistent on beating up a dead horse? You initiated this ridiculous argument now I finished it. Why don't you address the particulars? I will repeat this yet again for you:
