Al Gore says Tories' green plan a 'fraud' designed to mislead Canadians

TORONTO (CP) - The Conservatives' new environmental platform is a "complete and total fraud" that is "designed to mislead the Canadian people," former U.S. vice-president Al Gore said Saturday.
The noted environmentalist was presenting his Oscar-winning documentary "An Inconvenient Truth" in Toronto at a consumer environmental show, with Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty and environmentalist David Suzuki in attendance.
Gore praised Suzuki for confronting Environment Minister John Baird on Friday, saying he saw the two exchange words on TV.
When Baird told Suzuki the Conservatives were going further than any other government in Canadian history, Suzuki said it wasn't enough.
The Conservative government strategy focuses on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving air quality. But the plan failed to spell out precisely what many of its regulations will look like.
"In my opinion, it is a complete and total fraud," Gore said. "It is designed to mislead the Canadian people."
Gore said he was surprised to see that the Tory plan employs the concept of "intensity reduction," which he said is poll-tested phrase developed in Houston by the so-called think tanks financed by Exxon Mobil and some other large polluters.
Gore acknowledged he is not a Canadian citizen and said he has "no right to interfere in your decisions."
However, he said, the rest of the world looks to Canada for moral leadership and that's why this week's announcement was so "shocking."
Baird released a statement later in the day Saturday in which he refuted Gore's criticisms.
"The fact is our plan is vastly tougher than any measures introduced by the administration of which the former vice president was a member," Baird said in the statement.
Baird's statement also offered an invitation for Gore to discuss climate change and the Conservatives' environmental policies with him.
Ya and I loved how Baird kept his fake embarassed smile going the whole time Suzuki was in his face, while spouting "The Con Party line".
First off, this plan is, as was the clean air act, head and shoulders above the Liberals plans. Which to date stand at "0".
Gore is a bold faced liar, Suzuki is a raving socialist, need I say more?
Gore, creates a "Carbon credit" trading firm, then goes on a junket to sell global warming, now that's an inconvenient truth.
Suzuki tours the country in a carbon spewing Tour Bus, while preaching to the unwashed masses, all about our evil ways. Totally oblivious to the fact that there are Tour Bus company's that offer "Green Tech" buses.
If anyone listens to or puts any faith in either of these two absolute assholes, they have lost their mind.
You know what I wish? I wish someone in our government would actually not take this. When people say, you should be doing this, you should do this, etc. etc. I wish someone would just be like hey, fuck you.

Tell ya what Segment/Ladybug/Baylee why don't you look up the local HIV pasitive type and pucker up or have unprotected sex.
Al Gore is still talking about TUVALU being submerged when actually the sea-level there is dropping. Likely Gore has no idea where TUVALU even is.
If you actually believe climate change is man induced yet still come online consuming power from your own PC to the servers dedicated to your online experience you're nothing more then a hypogrit.
Since 1993. the TOPEX/POSEIDON satellite radars found that Tuvalu's sea levels have fallen four inches over a decade.
A second, independant record confirms the satellite measurment: the modern tide gauges installed on tuvalu in 1978. They show that a strong El Nino in 1997-1998 dropped Tuvalu's sea level by about one foot. The El Nino/Southern Oscillation is a natural phenominon that makes no difference at all in long term sea level trends.
The director of Australia's national Tidal facility, Wolfgang Scherer, says,
"One definitive statement we can make is that there is no indication based on observations that sea level rise is accelerating."

BTW----this Lester Brown is the one who started this nonsense about Tuvalu sinking. He is an agricultural Economist who throughout the 60-70's predicted widespread famines while the green Revolution was creating a surplus of food in the 3rd world. He is currently colaborating with an Indian agronomist to prove that organic farming out-produces modern high yield farming......sorta like proving that birds out fly jet airliners.
Hurricanes anyone?
