I told you I wouldn't get into the war thing with you. Stop it. ( I should not say this, but I do... WESTERN EUROPE was not selfish in WWII. HITLER was. Asshole you are! Fuck, have you ANY idea what you just said???)

ONce you pay 20% of your wages to the EU (on top of the national taxes), you will not be so happy you can feed the lazy who say they are poor and blame it on whoever they like, AND come over to take your job.

I don't care how long it takes Poland to build roads. Hell, I have been waiting for 18 years to see a highway being build  And then I am not mentioning the one that hasn't been finished for 30 years...

Then the "nice EU rules... The Schiphol taxes we have to pay because it is a nice little airport, but too poluting according to Brussels. Crap, and what about the east? Browncoal is what they heat their houses with! Cars emissions, sure, tax the hell outta cars and the use of it! What do YOU pay for a liter of gas? I don't think you pay close to Euro 1.50, do you? Do you pay road tax? 20% VAT? That all goes to the EU... I haven't even mentioned the EU rules for small business owners, house owners, education, healthcare and what more you can think of.

Please, the west doesn't need the east. Not now, not 30 years ago, and not in 30 years.

You see, I am not really fond of the EU... Please, don't try to convince me the EU is SOOOOOOOOOO good. Of course, it is for the poor eastern countries. It was good for Spain too. It still is. The rich countries can pay. I was a citizen of a rich country. But the last couple of years, I had a damned hard time coping financially. We never (in my generation) had it so bad as we had it the last couple of years. The EU sucks. Period.

I din't see this post before...

I know what I said: the truth.

Hitler was greedy, and selfish. The west was just selfish. If Hitler hadn't invaded Holland, your country wouldn't give a shit about the genocide in Poland. Like the Dutch soldiers in Mitrovica.

Neither do I. I am moving back to Canada in 2 or 3 years.

Yes, we do pay all that in Poland.

If you want your decisions to be made in Washington DC by G.W Bush or in Bejing, fine. Poland had it's decisions made in Moscow, and believe me, we don't want it again.

Europe is loosing it's position in the world to China, India, Iran etc. If we don't unite there will be no money to be no money to be wasted. It'll all be in Shanghai, New Delhi and Al-Rijad. This is the truth.

No one is disputing Canada has land....the issue is that 80% of it is INHOSPITABLE. I'd like to see someone try to put down a farm on the Canadian Shield or in the tundra.

Tundra might be possible if global warming speeds up but right now? Nope.

The other 20% already has more than enough people without infringing on space.

I wasn't trying to "educate" you on Europe but to point out to you that Switzerland being part of the EU isn't as overwhelming as you make it out to be. It was a close vote.

My main issue with the whole concept of the EU is that people can come and go as they please. Essentially the EU is one large country. People from the EU can come here to Britain, live off the welfare state and give the money to their families back home. People from the EU aren't under immigration control yet people like me who come to work and subsequently pay taxes have to be under immigration control AND can't benefit from some of the services because of that. It takes away from the people who NEED those services.

The other thing that rather amuses me is the fact that terrorism is such a topic over here, yet anyone can cross through any country in the EU without getting stopped. How is that stopping terrorists?? It's not, it's giving them free reign to go wherever they please knowing that there's no border controls.

I don't see how Canada will be independent upon joining the EU, she'll just get assimilated like all the other countries are. The only power is Brussels.

Here, you liar, Gas prices in Europe.

Notice: Holland: Euro 1.53
Poland: Euro 1.17

You don't pay road taxes as we do in Holland. We are unique in the world with it... Yippie.

Assimilated in the EU? To what? Europe isn't one mainstream culture, it is over than 30 cultures!

Canada is being assimilated to the USA. Joining the EU would cut of some of America's influence in Canada. Today's Canada-USA coop is like this:

USA says, Canada gives it's opinion on what the USA said but the USA doesn't give a shit about it, because Canada is ten times less populated.

The US president is the boss in America. Our Prime Minister isn't an equal partner for him. If you think he is that is just an illusion.

In the EU Canada would be an equal member, or an very important one thanks to Canada's uniqueness. The EU would need Canada so it would listen to it more carefully than the US does. The EU would respect Canada more than the US do.

Joining the EU would please Quebec, so what would destroy the threat of separation. A union with the Americans would strengthen the separatist movement and make Canada fall apart. I don't that.

Canada has to choose between:
-Her decisions made by the Americans in Washington D.C
-Her decisions made by her and EU members states in Brussels.

No third option. Hey, I would prefer Canada to be fully independent from the US and EU, but with our population it is impossible.

SigPig @ Thu Feb 28, 2008 8:39 am

First of all Greenland belongs to Denmark, so it makes sense that it belongs to the EU. However, last time I checked Canada is not part of Europe, so why join the EU? If the goal is greater trade and other economic benefits, why not just open more trade with things the way they are and put less emphasis on the US?

We pay 4.7 zloty for a litter of Gasoline. And we earn 1500 zloty monthly in average

You pay 1.53 Euro and you earn 2000 Euro Monthly in average

And yes, we do pay a road tax. 22% of gasoline taxes ;)

I don't think so. I am very Liberal. And I don't oppose the inevitable. I go with the wind.

You ran away to Canada, but you must understand, what you are running away from is spreading all over, and will someday get to where you live. You have to go farther. I propose Australia or New Zealand.

You know I am right.

Fine with me. It is good for a beginning of a higher level cooperation.

If you want implicate changes you have to do it by steps. It seams to me that joining the EU today is a to big step for Canada, and Canadians to bare. Lets take te small steps. As it was said in the video I posted, not by 2050 China will be a threat for us. We have 42 years still ;D

That is not the same, honey. Road tax, as in a quarterly bill you have to pay. Not imbedded in the gasprice.

Ran away? No, I didn't run away. It is too expensive to call it that, it is too emotional to call it that. I have two kids who deserve a future. But you are right, I will not spend another cent of my money, that I work hard for, on a beaurocratic bogus drama "gedrocht" like the EU.

Canada will never be like the EU. NZ and Ozzie? No thank you. I did my homework, I know very well why I moved to Canada.

That is running away. I am running away from Poland soon.

You don't understand that if not for the beaurocratic bogus Europe would be under the power of Washington, Moscow and in a future under Bejing?

Screw the Federal Government of Canada. Why hould we pay it Taxes?!

Lets have independent Provinces!!!

Vive le Quebec Libre! Fredom for New Fundland!!

Well, apparently you did it, but not completely. You came to Canada with the knowledge what it is. But in this world there are changes. There will be Changes in Canada to. http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=psBEj6cUXyk

Australia is further and has a affair with Asia now, but not for ever. It'll remind itself about it's family in Europe and North America someday.

Do you miss home?

Terrific! You are telling me whether I did my homework or not
You are a funny guy, and you have no idea what it takes to make decisions like I made. You only have to think for yourself. Whenever you have the oportunity to be less selfish, and find out what is best for someone else then you, you might come back to me on this ;-)
