Should US Army Deserters Be Deported From Canada?
get rid of the good for nothing a-holes
if they didn't want to fight in a war then why the hell did they join the military in the first place. You can't call yourself a war resistor when you volunteer for the military.

Deserters need to go to countries that don't have extradiction treaties with the US. Send the lazy morons home to face the music.
So if a US soldier is ordered to committ a war crime...they should shut up and obey??? And if they desert then they're cowards?
They can apply for CO status if such a situation exists but the important point here is that they decided to flee to a country that has signed an extradition treaty with the US. If they don't want to be deported they have the option to flee to a country that has not signed such an agreement. Moreover if such a situation truly does exist then the very worst thing they could do is to flee to force someone else who stays to clean up the mess they left behind.

You really are an idealist aren't you? Everyone knows that whistle blowers in the military are treated like heroes...well those who live out the week are anyway. Hence why we don't see many ticker tape parades.
Cowards are looked at even worse.
War resisters are showing a lot of courage imo, but its okay if you disagree.
More necro threads from the man who only repeats threads that were discussed months ago.
Your use of 'war resisters' says it all.
At the end of the day every deserter from the US military was a volunteer.
They freely agreed to join an army at war.
Then they deserted. I have nil sympathy for them and as they sit in Canada collecting welfare that my tax dollars pay for, we have our own guys fighting and dieing in Afghanistan.
Kick them out and try and start an original thread for once.
Punt em.

one was cuaght in Nelson BC last year smoking pot in a public park. Good for nothing weed head druggie chiken shit. Some other losers tried to help him out by fighting to allow him to stay. They don't respect the US laws or ours. What the hell do we need this garbage in Canada for?
Maybe you were one of the losers smoking pot in the park with him.

An Angus Reid poll says that 64% of Canadians are in favour of granting them asylum, and a motion passed in our own Parliament...you know that democratically elected body...a motion calling for the government to halt all deportation orders.
Whaddyer all think? Personally I'm in favour of letting them stay. Just because you sign on the dotted line and volunteer doesn't mean you're forced to abandon your own personal moral compass and sense of conscience...or at least I don't think so.
Let them stay!

If it was draft dodging there would not be anything wrong with seeking refuge here.
In this case they willingly signed to a commitment knowing damn well of the consequences.

So we'll keep to that policy and send any Chinese PLA defectors, Cubans, or North Koreans back too,
And anyone who didn't give proper notice when they quit their job to come here too,

We do need to be a lot more picky.
Too many bogus 'refugees' from all over the world, most of them are just queue jumpers.
Kick them all back or they should wait their turn like I had to.
