So we'll keep to that policy and send any Chinese PLA defectors, Cubans, or North Koreans back too,
And anyone who didn't give proper notice when they quit their job to come here too,

We do need to be a lot more picky.
Too many bogus 'refugees' from all over the world, most of them are just queue jumpers.
Kick them all back or they should wait their turn like I had to.

Yep, only want the best

Nothing wrong with Canadians being picky about who they let into this great country.

I checked the CIC site not too long ago. There have been made a lot of changes... You need a certain skill to be able to immigrate to Canada, if your skill (or job) is not on that list, your application will be rejected.

One of those skills (or jobs..) is...

Fastfood restaurant manager...

That's a cartoon.

Whatever point you are trying to make isn't happening.

Go on, post another cartoon. They are very funny.

I have thought of emigrating to Australia, apparently I can get a visa to join their military quite easily.

OK, how about this.

Canada has been built on immigrants. One of the best things about Canada is its diversity. We got this way by being accepting of people who are different from us. Folks, who when they come are called immigrants, and sometimes refugees.

I know quite a few immigrants and a few refugees and they are all working. Some as Taxi drivers and some as M.D.'s Let's keep up our immigration policies and loosen up on our refugee policy. They will make contributions to Canada if we continue to be accepting of them.

Clear enough, or do I need to be pickier?

If voting Conservative, Liberal and NDP during my time marking my X doesn't make me 'non-partisan' I don't know what does. I think to some fawning all over Harper is the only measuring stick for being reasonable.

Oh you know an immigrant, is that like knowing somebody who's a different colour? How very diverse of you.

As an immigrant I'm all for the right people coming here.
I had to retrain and adapt. To get ahead here you have to have a skill set that is marketable here.
I had a year or so where I had to take classes, courses etc before I could even apply for the job I wanted, so spare me your anecdotal yarns about the immigrant struggle, been there, got the t-shirt.

If you are an MD driving a cab you obviously need to do some upgrading to meet needs of the real job marketplace.

As for the bogus refugee applicants we get, and we do get them, send them back and let them go through the same procedure as the millions of us who have come here legally and waited years to do so.

It's always good to have some knowledge of a subject before you post cartoon characters to back up your point of view.

Indeed I do, including my wife. And a diverse group they are. All very nice, although I must admit that one dude, a Sihk, had me thinking I didn't like people from south asia, until I met others.

When I first moved back to Toronto I got to know a number of immigrants. All of them were very happy to have come to Canada. Except those who still thought of us as being part of the Imperial hinterland. They just couldn't understand diversity.

Funny, I'm not an immigrant, but spent 18 years out of the country. I came home with a university education and still "had to take classes, courses, etc. to even apply for the job I wanted!" They, however, didn't give me a t-shirt.

I had to go back and read what I had written, thinking I had mis-spoken--but I didn't.

Bogus is for the refugee board to decide, without government interference.

You are welcome, I'm always willing to help the more closed minded.

And it's Sikh, it's always nice to get the actual ethnic minority name right eh?
