I think this is awesome, now the liberals are getting a taste of there own medicine. And to think Belinda jumped on to a sinking ship. Sure this guy is a power hungry whore, I wouldn't trust him with my children. But can you blame him?

I don't have a problem with this. The only people who have hissy fits when politicians politic, are the conservatives. The reason? They have been out of government for so long that they don't understand how it works......

What I have a problem with is that the cons called Belinda Stronach a whore. It shows both that they don't understand how Canadian politics works, and also that they are immature and have zero respect for women.

We know things like this happen and we don't run around whining and crying about it. We know that this doesn't mean Stephen Harper is corrupt, although it did apparently mean the Liberals were corrupt when it happened to them......

So we cons don't know how Canadian politics function, well bully for you sunshine. Rather an immature statement don't you think.

BTW my pig farm is open for business.

Actually what made the liberals corrupt is all the stealing of money.

The other story is that Harper is using the senate to install someone into his Cabinet who has not been elected as an MP......

Harper was strongly against unelected senate appointments, and now he is installing Cabinet Ministers who are not MPs and have not been elected.....

His name is Michael Fortier and is Minister of Public Works....

They say he'll run in the first by election that comes up....whenever that is...

This used to be an extremely common occurance, back when politics was secondary to country. A large number of the federal cabinet during WWII were not elected but choosen based on their experience.

I don't have a real problem with either of these two "issues". But if the liberals had done anything like this, we would hear people screaming bloody murder.....thats my point.

The cons scream corruption everytime the liberals turn around. The reason for that is most of them have never been in government and don't know how things work.......

Stephen Harper is obviously learning that appointments and floor crossings happen, are part of Canadian politics, and are not evil actions of the devil......I think they'll be learning a lot of similiar lessons as time passes.

Yes, cause the CPC should know corruption should be expected.

I don't mean people on this board...I mean Conservative Party MPs and and such....

It's pretty obvious they don't understand the details of our political system...

They were constantly out manauevered in the summer because they didn't know all the nuances that come from being in power for a long time....

Even Stephen Harper said they need to spend some time getting to know how the Government works before they start making important decisions....

Most of the MPs have not been part of Government before...The ones that have are mostly former provincial MPPs.....

In other words, politics?

Yes.

TheGup @ Mon Feb 06, 2006 1:35 pm

This is ridiculous. I can't believe that Conservatives will insult and slander someone who jumped off their ship, to turn and praise someone who jumped on.

Ms. Stronach was my MP, who I voted for, and I was not as mad about that as I am about this. I am not impressed, and I really hope that this doesn't set the bar for the next Parliament.

IcedCap @ Mon Feb 06, 2006 1:41 pm

This is hilarious, Harper's not even PM for a day and he's acting like the Liberals. I don't understand how any Conservative who criticized Stronach and the Grits can justify Emerson's defection and cabinet job.

You liberals would probably understand this better if there was a critical vote coming up and Emerson crossed the floor in order to give the Conservatives the majority. Now quit yer cryin'.
