stratos stratos:
$3.45 was the lowest I could find this weekend.

You guys would have heart failure if you had to pay what we're paying.

oops, maybe I'm wrong, sorry. You're paying a 1.10 a litre if I figured it out right.

3.785L/3.45 = 1.097L Did I calculate this correct?

No they pay 91.cents a liter.

Thanks mtbr. What's the calculation for this?

Lavics @ Mon Apr 28, 2008 12:29 pm

127.9 this morning in Ottawa.

Wonder what excuse it is this time.

3.45 / 3.785l per US gallon assuming equal dollar value which is close to todays rate

The excuse is that people drive cars. Demand for gas makes the price of gas go up, since there is dwindling supply. You may notice that, since people started using gasoline, the price has only gone up. The solution is to stop using gasoline.

You also forgot that oil corporation cut down on the number of refineries and artificially created a higher need then they can produce. Look what happened in Alberta a few weeks ago.

Wasn't there a refinery shut down for some reason?
They've closed the ones in Montreal apperently. Tho that has nothing to do with Alberta .

And then what? What do we use if we can't have gasoline? Please inform us all on something other than basic economics you learned in grade 6.

There was some kind of maintenance going on maybe a partial shutdown, I remember the big warning but there was no noticeable effect being the price of oil is still rising.
