hell me too, but eventually we will need something else to run our cars on or start changing our lif styles.
What gets to me is that any business is into making money. I have no problem with that ,but when they make up excuses to raise the price and in the end they make more profit than before there's something wrong. It's call gouging. They don't absorb any losses in price fluctuation. To me that effects the economy and many have a hard time to adjust as it cuts into a good percentage of their wages, which leaves thenm less money to spend elsewhere that could keep the economy going.

I agree but we have a world market economy and everything is priced on market speculation sometimes bad sometimes good. You can call it gouging if you think they make too much money off the price of a barrel of oil , but we are an exporting nation mostly Natural Resources which all priced on the world market.
Canadians benefit from the high price of oil not just Albertans.Anybody can buy oil stocks...many people do, check your mutual funds

,or pension plans.

The excuse is that people drive cars. Demand for gas makes the price of gas go up, since there is dwindling supply. You may notice that, since people started using gasoline, the price has only gone up. The solution is to stop using gasoline.
Wow is that all?

125.9 is actually 122.5 in Calgary nobody pays list price
a lot cheaper in other parts of town.
Ah, thats true, I forgot about that. I've all ways kind of wondered why they do that.
$1.20 at my station. Central AB.
When i bought my old Chev 4x4 new in 97 the most i could put in was $45.. The other day when the price was going up, I topped up the tank with the gauge showing the width of the needle under the full line, it cost $40 for the top up. And more than likely could of squeezed in another $3 or $4.

Tell me about it, $130 for my GM Sierra and $100 for my Explorer. I'm going to have to take out a mortgage just to fill up pretty soon here.

You also forgot that oil corporation cut down on the number of refineries and artificially created a higher need then they can produce. Look what happened in Alberta a few weeks ago.
What happened

There was a fire at Shell Scotford (Ft. Saskatchewan) and a problem with an upgrade at Esso Strathcona. It affected both plants diesel production by about 1/3, meaning for a while, diesel cost about 10 cents more per litre than regular fuel.
Now, thank god, it's back to being cheaper than regular gas...I filled up on the weekend at $1.16 per litre.
This is one reason I love my Jetta. The $50 fill up on Saturday will get me almost 700 km in the city, up to 1000 on the highway. I'm so happy I got rid of that Ford Taurus POS...
Ripcat @ Tue Apr 29, 2008 8:06 am
I paid $1.16 for regular in Sarnia ON this morning. Diesel was $1.23.
I did a search for this thread and got a whole bunch of old threads. In 2005 gas hit $1.31 in Ottawa according to one poster.
I went into the gas station today and
asked for five dollars worth of gas...
The clerk farted and gave me a receipt.
