I never understood the hate, Canada is the source of one of the most popular artists in the world, that should be a source of pride even if you hate his music.

Canadians love to shit on Canadian talent. I've never understood it either.

Not sure what you mean by that.

You're link actually does a great job of explaining what I mean.

Here's who was entitled to receive the medal in the UK:

A cool story but not really relevant. The Queen of Canada and the Queen of the United Kingdom may be the same person, but the Monarchy of Canada is independent of the Monarchy of the United Kingdom.

Except it's not really independent is it. the Monarchy of the UK is the Monarchy of Canada. The Queen has her representatives in Canada. But this is going off topic.

Not much, I'm sure.

Canadians shitting on Celine Dion and Justin Beiber is tantamount to claiming a person is shitting on Toyota when it bitches about a Yaris.

Agreed but that is his style andd it is what he is known for.

Seriously? It's a formal occasion and he should have dressed appropriately. Instead he looked like a f*cking idiot.

It's common courtesy to take off your goddamn hat when you enter a building, let alone wearing backwards to meet the PM, dressed like an out-of-work painter. No wonder our youth haven't any respect for anything. By all accounts Bieber is a decent kid, but he deserves a good slap for this performance.

Can you really be surprised though when he has a history of wearing things most respectable human beings wouldn't be caught dead in.

Man, that's like wrapping a loaf of wonder bread in a rebel flag!

Meh... not a fan of his music but I hope he enjoys it. He's starting to get a little old for the teeny bopper demographic. His career will be over in a couple of years anyways unless drops the lip synching and starts mastering a fender with a distortion pedal, or hope he didn't blow all of his money on ferris wheels for his pet monkeys.

I would of dressed a little more appropiately if it was me at that age, it's the sitting PM giving him the medal after all. He looks like he just finished cleaning the barn. Just needs a pitchfork and a goat nearby to complete that pic.

commanderkai @ Sat Nov 24, 2012 6:21 pm

I don't really have much more to say than...he seriously dressed like a redneck rapper? I mean, I hate his music, but I know he probably would get some official recognition for his status as a pop icon, but for fuck's sake, Bieber, you're meeting the goddamn Prime Minister of Canada. Dress properly, even if it's just dress pants and a button up shirt.

Sheesh, does he attend funerals or weddings dressed like that?

It's not just Canadians. People make it a sport to call Bieber gay, despite the fact he was tapping quite a hot young lady. My guess is it's mostly jealousy.

Freakinoldguy @ Sat Nov 24, 2012 9:42 pm

The little prick makes millions as a lamer version of Vanilla Ice and now he's trying for a status card and transfer payments. 8O

$1:
Bieber's paternal great-grandfather was from Germany.[22] Bieber's mother's ancestry is French Canadian.[23] He has stated that he believes that he has some undetermined Aboriginal Canadian ancestry.[24] He attended a French-language immersion elementary school in Stratford, the Jeanne Sauvé Catholic School

The only redeeming feature about this poor mans gang banger is that he's Canadian and his painful brand of crotch grabbing musical antics will be history in a couple of years just like all those disturbing boy bands. [cheer]

Strutz @ Sat Nov 24, 2012 10:14 pm

Not a fan of his either but he certainly has achieved a level of fame so many never reach.

I agree that he should have dressed more respectfully for the occasion though. This photo op was not for a teen magazine after all.

Freakinoldguy @ Sun Nov 25, 2012 12:40 am

Just saw a picture of him and Selena Gomez at some music award and the kid was dressed in guess what???????????????

A fekin tux, yet he could't be bothered to even wear a suit to get an award from the Prime Minister of Canada.

It must be tough being the only hardcore gang banging white guy in Los Angeles and having to explain how hard life was on the mean streets of Stratford. ROTFL

While I don't particularly care for our current leader, I'd dress appropriately especially if I was going to be receiving a medal from him and be honoured to accept an award from the man. If Bieber can look somewhat presentable when he meets the President, he can do the same for our prime minister.
