I can see why Harper would like Bieber. Unlike past musical figures assocaited with Canadian politicians (John Lennon, Bono), Bieber keeps his mouth shut and does what his manager tells him to do. :lol:

i am not a Bilieber and yet i can not ignore the fact that Justin Bieber is a HUGE international pop star. Like him or not he does bring recognition to Canada and Canadians. He gets so many accolades does he really need (or deserve) a Diamond Jubilee Medal? Who cares, good on him!

Exactly. I don't like his stuff, but then again, I'm not exactly his target demographic either.

hey! Who said anything about jail bait? But, she really isn't too hard on the eyes either. My daughter is a big fan of Marianas Trench, Carly's pretty chummy with those guys. Keep an eye on them they are up and coming acts.

I`m pretty sure its 16 in Canada as well. The Conservatives upped it from 14.

I have to put this in the 'who cares' folder. Who cares about Bieber? He's a pop singer. Who cares about the jubilee gong? It means nothing. Who cares what he wore when he got a meaningless medal from a politician looking for a photo-op?

Meaningless to you, but not to others. The CF has been handing them out to (mostly) deserving members to recognize the above and beyond work they do in their job and community. I get it that it will be occasionally cheapened by a recipient, but Biebs did a double with the hillbilly fashionista approach.

You must read the Lookout, they're giving them to every Tom, Dick and Harry sailor in Esquimalt. Getting a medal of any sort for doing your job completly lessons the meaaning of medals.
