It may be time to do something more than vote...............step up and run for a political party. If you want to do something volunteer at your favorite party's campain hq, it's what I did when I was your age Ham (OH MY GOD IM ONE OF THOSE BACK WHEN I WAS YOUR AGE GUYS).

I think the conservatives are my favorite parrty but I don't like some to the things they are proposing, I should buy a membership and things at the grassroots.

   

How about if you vote you get $10.00 and free sandwiches.

The line up would be round the block.

If the Liberal party gets in you have to give back the $10.00 it was just a lie.
If the Conservative party gets in you get another $0.75 paid interest.

If the NDP gets in they introduce a voting tax and get $15.00 back.

   

That's a good idea pluggy, the $15 that the NDP recieved could be put into healthcare which would offset the hospital fees which would be incurred by the missuse of the conservatives money which would inevitably be spent on ammo for their weapons, then the Libs could put their money into an ad campaign informing the public of what a stupid idea the cons came up with. Now your thinking.

   

Na ...we got lots of ammo, were going to sell it to the Liberals..at a large profit of course.
Then after the NDP has incurred a massive debt, the Liberals will have enough ammo to beat the shit out of them.
After the war of attrition, the conservatives will rise from the ashes to create a new strong Canada free from bullshit and whiny political correct ideology.

Voting is NOT a privilege, it's your duty as a citizen of a democratic country.
As for the youth not voting, I think that's mostly because they dont know anything about politics and so they don't care. Maybe only 20% of my friends actually knows who Stephen Harper is. (Well maybe more now that we are in the election). Even more sadly, a lot of people vote for the Bloc because "they want them to take the power", not knowing why they can't. I think that's exactly why the youngs are separatists: they don,t follow politics but they are invaded by the separatists media so they have developed a blind and revolutionist nationalism.
We should introduce some politics awareness 101 course in high school.

No, people should not be forced to vote. In a free society, it is a contradiction to force someone to do so.
