Ok...that's cool...as a matter of fact I'll give you "props" for being involved.

Good for you..We need more young people to get involved..

Actually voting is more of a responsibility rather than a right. If you have the right to vote, you have the responsibility of exercising your franchise that is how democracy is preserved

Actually it is a right and it's a citizens responsibility to exercise it.

Mandatory voting cripples the benefits of the current polling system.

Those who don't vote are abstaining. If you force them to vote, the result will distort the election's appraisal of public opinion. Forcing people who are disinterested or uninformed of the issues is not helpful.

In Parliament as well as the UN abstention is considered a vote.

In many polls a quorum is required for a motion to be carried.

People who are not interested should vote blank. Make sure there is a "blank" button on the computer, or a blank post on the form.

The quorum point is particularly interesting. I think that we should, on a riding-by-riding basis, require at least 50% turnout. If that isn't met, then there should be a byelection called.

Actually we have the option of going to the polls and spoiling your ballot, but the responsibility of voting your voice in a democracy.

What if someone doesn't want to use their voice? Forcing people to vote is just going to turn voting into a free-for-all to the absence excuse form pile.

That wouldn't fill the seat, though, it would just disillusion more people.
