We're still perceived quite well actually. The most negative impression I ever got about our government was from an American who happened to know a bit about Canadian politics, who said "Well, now you know how we felt under Bush. Or the way Iranians feel about Ahmadinejad."

Perhaps my views of certain people are the similar to that of the CPC's views, but many people of all political stripes share similar views about these politicians. You've yet to demonstrate that my opinions are the 'same'. They aren't.
I rarely read/watch anything political nor do I belong to any political party. I haven't read a party document, flyer or pamphlet since 2008-2009. I've never been so far away from politics than I am now.
Further, my views on certain topics came before any CPC-based opinions were released as so-called 'talking points'.
You have this view that once people support a party, they are hardcore to that party and will be partisan till the bitter end. That's not even close to accurate.
When I first came to CKA, I was very involved in politics and very partisan towards the CPC. You still see me as that guy. Over the years, I have become disillusioned with politics and have expressed my opinions both positive and negative towards members of ALL parties.
You sir, have your own biases that you need to work out. You need to open your eyes around you and see that what you assume is going on, actually isn't.

When you make stupid comments, and they are stupid, about government using money to advertise as if it's some horrible scam or "Harper TV" you're ignoring that all governments use money for advertising and marketing their programs.
Conservatives, Liberals or NDP in power, governments will always advertise as it's a way to notify the people what you're doing AND lends a little confidence that the government is actually doing something.
Do governments overspend on stuff? Sure.....but your tin foil theory of 'haperism' is worthy of the ridicule it receives.

Once , in an emergency to save Canada they tossed big bucks around to thwart a referendum. It worked.
