Immigrants want to ban Christmas tree

Bodah @ Sat Dec 01, 2007 11:10 am
The word must be out westerners are pussies with their customs, but dont worry Quebecers will take care of this one.
If they are so offended by our Christmas tree and our traditions, then they can get back on a plane and go back to fucking india. These people obviously aren't very interested in being Canadian.
Whoa, I just had a case of deja vu. I could've sworn that you made that exact same post a while ago, Bodah...

This commission has all the kooks coming out of the woodwork. Don't think for a minute that they actually represent all immigrants' point of view.
Putting aside the commission for a minute.
A major percentage of Quebecers are fed up with all the accommodations to immigrants (mostly from the Middle East, India and so forth)
To which extent does it all end ?
If we start letting slide this and that, it will never stop. It all started with the kirpan, then the sugar shack incident, and now the Christmas tree.
Like Bodah said, it seems as though some do not want to integrate at all.
It has been a long-standing tradition, in Quebec as well as Canada, that we celebrate Christmas with a Christmas tree. Now only because a minority group wants to ban the Christmas tree, we are only supposed to sit there and let it happen !!! Screw that !!!
It is OUR tradition. We should not have to change for anyone.

A lot of this crap needs to stop.
I have no problem with given a Muslim guy prayer breaks instead of cigarette breaks, or allowing Sikhs to wear turbans, or letting people practice their religion in this country.
However, I draw the line when they tell me that I need to change my religious/cultural practices for them. To hell with that. This is my country, and it's been that way for hundreds of years, so stick it in your pipe and smoke it.
I'll let you carry a kirpan and wear turban if you don't bitch and whine about my Christmas tree.
Religious freedom and tolerance works both ways.

You have a point I watched some of them, some real cooks show up. I watched a few angry old men still pissed about what happened 300 years ago.
But we shouldn't put up with this bs though, nothing wrong with standing up for our traditions. Lets call them what they would call us if we went to their native coutry and asked them to stop their customs because we find it offensive, and what they are ... intolerant biggots.
selfish brats... they get an hour off work to pray everyday, if they dnt they get angry, and just because every otha relgious or nonreligous person wants to spend one month thinking about god, which is Christmas, we accomodate there spiritual needs why dnt they accomidate ours???

Kick the bastards out of this country. They all come from countries that are intolerant of any religion or culture other than their own so I say piss off and go back whereever the hell it is that you came from!
You people need to relax: The Christmas tree won`t be banned any time soon.
Brenda @ Sat Dec 01, 2007 4:45 pm
That is not the point.
The idea that someone moves to another country, and then has the guts to tell people to stop having this tradition is the point.
PJB @ Sat Dec 01, 2007 4:49 pm
Streaker...The politically correct has already made saying Merry Christmas a bad thing. We now have to say Happy Holidays...It is starting and I doubt if anyone really knows how far it will go.
The Canada I love is being taken over!!!!!
