Just read through all your posts. Shitty go for sure and there is no doubt that the experiences of our youth heavily influence who we are in adulthood. You obviously are pretty pissed and rightfully so. I suggest that you talk about your experiences with anyone you can stomach telling this to. Hell, go find a cab driver and ride around for a couple of hours telling him everything, it'll be well worth the 50 bucks to get this crap off your chest. Sometimes when we experience things that the vast majority of others can never understand we feel isolated and alone and bottling it exasperates it.

   

Sure I'm pissed with the catholic organization. And as you stated,'rightfully so'. I don't seem to be getting thru to some people that it is 'the organization', the people who perpetuate this type of crime by denying it is still happening or not taking it seriously. I am not against ALL catholics. There are still two in my own family whom I love dearly.
I suppose that I will continue to be angry with the 'organization' until such time that it is completely 'torn apart and put back together properly' by the 'good ones'!

I am one of the 'lucky ones'. Three of the fellows I went thru this with couldn't deal with it and commited suicide. Another is a bonafide schizophrenic.
personally, I haven't had a drink of alcohol in 25 years, never got hooked on drugs, only take tylenol for pain and barring unforseen accidents, and there have been a few, only see my doctor once a year for my physical. Passed the last one with flying colors!

I faced my demons a long time ago and that is how I am able to use my experiences to help others. I tell them 'This is what happened to me. This is how I dealt with it. And this is how it turned out.
My kids were taught spirituality. Not religion. Today they all attend the church of their choice along with their partners and families. None have chosen to follow the catholic doctrine for their own reasons. None of them, or my wife for that matter know about my past experiences in these matters. So I guess if I hadn't 'gotten over it' that wouldn't have been possible to keep from them now would it?

I only responded to Shep's post in as much as his post just confirms that indeed the catholic organization is corrupt and in serious need of a 'tear-down & rebuild' by those who truly are capable of taking on such a monumental task.

I have a copy of a book that was published years ago, and will look for it tomorrow.I believe it is 'In Gods Name'. Anyway, the Vatican tried to stop it from being published. The argument went all the way up to the high court. The Vatican was told that if they could disprove any part of the book then certainly publication would not go ahead. They couldn't. Some of the truth came out!

It also pisses me off when people who don't have a clue as to the subject matter start beaking off just to impress themselves. Note a couple of the earlier 'poster-boys'.

The little tyke needs to improve his vocabulary. Inappropraiately or illegally would have been better ways to describe molestation of a child. But apparently he thinks this sort of touching is 'funny'. Well, this may be his idea of fun, but the law and society says differently.

Don't worry, you didn't hijack the thread. If anything you drove home the idea of institutionalized corruption. The Roman Catholic Church is full of good people, priests, nuns and parishoners. The corruption lays within the institution and heirarchy that excepts unquestioning obedience to its rules, rather than God's laws. The media is full of reports of molestation and other crimes commited by clergy. FairyDirt and Clogofpoo need to be ignored. No one ever 'gets over' being molested and if their brains weren't just for keeping their ears apart they would understand this.

the catholic church was the "stooge" of the "powers at hand" since its origins..from the crusades...to the witch-hunts..every now and then a reformation movement arrived and cleaned up the catholic church and we are probably in need of another one...i grew up a catholic and some of the most evil ppl i knew on a persona level could be seen in the pews every sun morning..as a catholic i'm responsible for what i do and not the other catholics or the church itself does..i'm so amazed biblical_christian isnt here having a feeding frenzy given his intense hate campaign towards all catholics..and i'd like to add the born-again christian is a cult...much more than the catholic church could ever be

   

and also as growing up a catholic we NEVER had any sexually deviant priests..but we did have 2 who were drunks..one even confessed to the congregration and asked our forgiveness...which we were only to happy to give

Well what are telling me for? I have met many people who have been sexually assaulted so you are not the first. But you should see it as what it was an individual acting out. I even pointed out my own grandmother whom is a Catholic dealt with a priest before in her old community where she lived. She isn’t going to go around though and saying every Catholic is like this or the whole organisation is because it isn’t.

It is no different than teachers in the public schools who assault children does that mean every teacher is bad or all the public schools are going to rape your kids? No it doesn’t but you are saying the same for the Catholics and it is wrong for you to do so.



Well you were raped then. Nothing I can do about that. That doesn’t mean every church is going to rape you though. If you moved on I doubt you would be so angry still. You still have hatred in your heart and it appears you have not resolved anything.



You rather focus on the medium and how I delivered it rather than the actual message. Yogi is wrong for blaming an entire community for what happened to him plain and simple. As I pointed out which he doesn’t seem to answer why not blame the Jews too or every religious or non-religious people if they did something that hurt you? It is stupid to do such and it is targeting people unjustly based on their shared religion.

Maybe phrase it for you this way if a Negro raped your kid are you going to go lynch all the Negros in your community? I guess because they look the same they must act the same?

Let me clarify that no, I wasn't 'raped' in the truest sense of the word but was molested on more than one occasion.

I think that this subject matter is way beyond your comprehension but I will try to explain it in elementary vocabulary for you!

If the same sort of behavior was happening in the public school system, AND THOSE WHO RUN THE SYSTEM CONTINUALLY DENIED THAT IT WAS HAPPENING AND KEPT TRYING TO COVER IT UP then in my opinion that organization also would be immoral, sleazy corrupt etc. and in need of being torn down and rebuilt. It would not mean that all teachers within that system are bad. Just those people who perpetuate the cover-up.

The same train of thought can be applied to any other organization. You continually bring up Jews. It is universally accepted that the holocaust did indeed happen. I also accept that as fact. Those who continue to deny the holocaust, such as Ernst Zundel, are charged, convicted and sentenced for this as it is considered a crime to deny such attrocities. (do your own research).

As regards 'Negros', a similar situation happened years ago involving a girl I was close to, and in fact am still in contact with. A 'Negro' minister -Baptist-got caught in the act of trying to rape her, (intercourse). After those who caught him in the act administered a bit of 'real justice', the police were called, the minister was arrested, charged, convicted,and sentenced. All quite within a short period of time.
His church immediately removed him from his position as minister-( symbolic,by then),the governing board barred him from EVER holding any position of authority within the Baptist church and when he got out of jail he had to stand in front of the congregation and ask for forgiveness and if one person were to deny him then he would not have even been able to attend services or functions as a parishioner.

The 'CATHOLIC ORGANIZATION' ( I will also clarify 'organization' for the purpose of this discussion. As you are so adept at 'reading between the lines, even when there is only one line, I am surprised that you couldn't figure this out for yourself!) The 'organization' is THE PEOPLE AT THE TOP WHO MAKE THE DECISIONS AND SET THE RULES THAT THE MINIONS MUST FOLLOW!
