I am not a religious authority so I cannot give you a answer that will be based on facts and history but the basics are that women in Islam are allowed to be in the army as long as they are not combatants. I am sure you are trying to emaphasize on the fact that Women should have a choice regardless of what their religion says, I am sorry but thats not how Islam works. Quran and Sunnah provide us with a good description on how a Muslim should be and we follow that so some of the choices that are against the will of God will not be exercised.

If the punishment for a crime is death then why should it matter, how their live is taken?

Ofcourse it allows choice but some choices can lead you the wrong way and some lead you the right way, now its you who decided, which path you want to take. The manual that tells us what is good and what is bad is the Quran.

So seriously what does the Quran say about sex before marriage. Is that a no no? I remember something about it's alright for the guy but not the girl? But i'm drinking too so go easy on me.

No problem, I am always easy on people that are easy on me. Sex before marriage is a no, no for guys and girls.

Therefore, whosoever seeks more beyond that [in sexual gratification], then they are the transgressors." (23:5-6). Muslim scholars say this statement "makes it very clear that any sexual gratification outside marriage is considered a transgression of the law of God."
See on that basis alone I can't be muslim, or catholic...that ship sailed a long time ago

lol, thats not true. You can be Muslim even if you were the worst human being on the planet. But as soon as you except Islam, you are like a new born baby and all the sins are washed away. Islam accepts all, there aren't any requirements for one to convert other then believing in Islam truly.
Oh ok, well thats different. In the catholic religion once that erm apple has a bite out of it there's no going back

For the top 3. So they are up there, just not the most.

Actually, if we choose not to follow some of the lesser sins then God will forgive us, which is made clear in the Quran. Now, if the Quran tells me not to drink but I drink, it is considered a sin but it doesn't hold as much punishment as rape or death. Every religion threatens you, they tell you either you follow the religion or their will be punishment in one way or another, that sounds like a threat coming from God, the God who created us.
So you are allowed to some of these lesser sins but the big kahunas and your in deep shit with the big guy upstairs?

that's what christ taught. ask for forgiveness from god and it will be granted. catholics and other christian churches have sort of ........altered what christ preached.
