I am so chuffed Obama won!

What does chuffed mean? Since you're a liberal I gather it's good.

Canadaka @ Wed Nov 05, 2008 1:37 am

chuffed - 6 definitions - To be very pleased, proud or happy with yourself.

I wonder if Ted Steven convicted felon will win his seat. Franken looks to be a win now.

Hard to believe they'd vote in a convicted felon.

Franken is going to win? Might be worth it to swing by the Coulter / Malkin blogs tomorrow just to see the fireworks.

Is the Coulter blog any good? From her books, I find she is a better writer than speaker. I swing by Malkin every few days to see if there is anything worth raving about.

I don't know--I just assume she has a blog. I saw her in an interview once and she didn't seem overly-enamored with Al Franken.

I bet "she didn't seem overly-enamored" is one of those understatement things.

The question is whether or not it is a right. It certainly isn't protected under the United States Constitution as a right. Proposition 8 is on an amendment to the Californian Constitution to do something similar.

Do you have a right to get married?

I was talking about basic rights though. Inter-racial marriage was frowned upon not so long ago. Should that have been held to a vote?

I don't see this as any different.

That's understandable, but your view does not matter on the issue. California's voters are trying to define whether it is a right for themselves.

Perhaps we should talk about what qualifies as a universal human right then? How/why does marriage qualify as such?

Pseudonym @ Wed Nov 05, 2008 2:06 am

Or perhaps we need to argue more about the definition of marriage? I'm not sure what we should go for here.

My views matter as much as anyone else's. Or are you saying that because I'm not from California I can't comment on something they're doing?

No, I'm saying you don't have a vote. :D

Pseudonym @ Wed Nov 05, 2008 2:18 am

-_- That's not what I'm saying at all.

Pseudonym @ Wed Nov 05, 2008 2:22 am

Then we can debate that point, on whether it qualifies as a universal human right. Did I not make it clear? If so, I apologize.
