America has a race problem. Being a black man in America must suck.

   

   

Being ignorant and stupid must suck worse.

   

Ask any black man in America if he'd prefer to be a black man in Africa. You'll find it's not so bad as it could be.

   

Black people have a much higher standard of living in the U.K and Canada. You can't ignore the fact that most black Americans are struggling to make ends meet and dealing with a lot of crap from society and police that their white counter parts don't.

   

Let me get this strait you believe that only blacks are struggling to make ends meat and that they are the only ones being shot by the police?

   

Sadly, this is primarily the result of their own inactions. Those black folks who pay attention in school, get a degree, and secure a decent job actually do better than the average white person because such people are in demand by organizations that are trying to satisfy (defacto) diversity quotas.

The ones who struggle will usually admit to skipping school, dropping out of school, doing drugs, drinking and fighting, and etc.

The predominant culture of the American black population these days seems to lionize the so-called 'thug life' and they celebrate misogyny. Anyone embracing those values is inevitably going to have a difficult time securing employment at the neighborhood bank or the municipal police department.

It's a choice.

I sing with a black gospel choir and, to a person, each of them is successful and is a leader in the community. No one holds them back and none of them ever tell me of white people oppressing them. Around them I'm the slack-ass because I never earned a doctorate while I can't think of any of them who haven't.

   

It's the same here with natives. Too many of the kids and many adults don't want to put in a minimal effort. A few years back, I heard the argument put forward that native students didn't succeed because of language barriers. The Native students didn't understand 'White English'. That argument holds zero credibility because if you look at the students who dominate the academic standings, almost all of them are Asians who are ESLers. It's all about motivation. That's something that CAN'T be taught. It has to come from within. Those kids who do succeed, all have this and dedicated parents, a definite rarity as many of them have no education, in common.

   

Always easy to stand back and be an armchair QB. You stand there and take that risk and hope it's a spoon you're about to be stabbed with. You're a tough guy!

I'll leave the real police decisions to the real cops, not the pretend ones.

OTI: When I used to deal with armed adversaries in a war zone I was still held to a higher standard of accountability than I see with police agencies. Some of the shit these morons leaves them 'in fear for my life' would have gotten me laughed all the way to the stockade. And thank you for defending the assclown who killed the guy with the spoon. Nice to know I can count on you to defend tyranny no matter how asinine it may become.

   

Tell me Bart, how close would you let the guy get to you before you opted to use force to stop him? How many times to you tell him to stop approaching you?

Do you wait until your shanked with a knife? Or wait for an open-arm hug and hope it's a spoon?

As I said, it's easy for you to sit back and judge from behind your computer screen and not be in the moment. You're good at doing that.

I'd love to see someone second guess your personal decisions while not being part of them and see how well you react to that. I suspect, it wouldn't be favourable.
